"I replaced two large windows and two sliding glass doors. There were a lot of factors that went into my decision, and now that I've had my windows for about 2 years, I have some additional comments. First, price. Zen windows doesn't advertise, and they're not available in stores like Home Depot and Lowes. They also don't have that annoying high pressure salesman that is constantly leaving notes on your door like Anderson Windows. They don't do those things, which means they don't have to pay for those things, which means those costs aren't rolled into your costs, which means your costs are lower. Zen windows were among the lowest priced of all the ones I explored. Second, value. What is price, without value? Zen runs three different tiers, the top tier being an excellent triple pane window with insulating foam-filled frames, and they were STILL less expensive than competitors. Less than HALF the price of Andersen Windows. They offer a LIFETIME warranty, and free replacement. Someone breaks your window to get in your house? you get a free window. A dog goes through the window? A kid throws a baseball? Crazy sideways hail storm? You get a free window. But it's more than Zen windows. Zen actually sells windows from a large nationwide brand. I think it's "Softlite", but don't quote me. Anyway, their windows actually ALSO have a lifetime warranty through the manufacture. Zen windows goes out of business, but your window fails? You STILL get a free window. Next, my experience. I went with the triple pane windows, because they come with the foam-filled frames and were only like $50 more per window. But I went with the double pane sliding glass doors, because they would have been like $500 more per door. All in all, the new windows and doors are awesome, and I would totally buy them again. I only had three or four complaints or problems. 1-Their installer actually ordered the wrong sliding glass door for one of my applications. Instead of opening from left to right, and having a door in the corner of the bedroom, it would have opened from right to left. The door would have been behind the bed, and you would have had to step over an HVAC grate to use the door. Instead of offering a solution, the installer himself said "Well, is it ok? Can we just leave it?" NO! No you may not. But don't let this story deter you. The owner himself was more than apologetic. He knew that it wasn't ok, and never even hesitated. He rush-ordered the correct door, and knocked $50 off the total price. In the end, no issue. 2-SUPER tight seals. One of my sliding glass doors (not the one noted above) has a super tight seal. So much so that, when you're opening it, it doesn't open smoothly. About halfway, it hits extra friction and will get stuck. Then you have to give it extra oomph to open or close it. They said that it would loosen up over time, but 2 years later, it's still the same. This is both a good thing (great seals, great weather resistance) and a bad thing (difficult to use) so it speaks in both directions here. 3-mm off in size. One window is just a HAIR too big. I mean really, like 1-2 mm too wide. When you close both sides, the mechanism that locks the window doesn't line up perfectly, so it can be difficult to latch. It almost takes two people: one to pull with all their strength, the other to push the other window and close the latch. Almost. I'm exaggerating a little, but it's still an issue. 4-Cracked drywall. When the installation was done, there was a tiny crack about an inch long in the drywall over one installation. I was able to seal it with a couple coats of paint, so it's kind of another non-issue, but one I wanted to point out. These are the reasons I gave them a "B" for quality, but everything else is "A+" quality, and I recommend them to all of my friends."

"Unfortunately, everything about the sub-contractor was less than satisfactory in almost every way possible so I emailed Bill through Angie's List stating that I had concerns and he replied back that I was to contact him directly and he provided his phone number.  I could not have asked for a more professional and kind response to my plea for help!!! While detailing the concerns on the phone, Bill listened patiently (not always an easy thing for a man to do when a woman is frustrated and maybe not as articulate as she could be) and kindly offered to come to my house with the sub-contractor at the next appointment. I was immensely relieved and from that moment my anxiety diminished and I felt confident that the replacement of my windows would be a quality job that I would be pleased with. True to his word, Bill stopped by not once but twice until the job was completed and made sure that everything was handled properly. There were a couple of other windows that I had debated on replacing. Bill inspected them and determined that the cloudiness just needed to be Windexed away. I appreciated his honesty and then he proceeded to apply Windex and paper towels to the two windows and voila, I had clean, clear windows. Even more than this, he saw that I had a broken handle on my patio door and he replaced that for me as well as doing some adjustments to the patio door screen. Oh, and then, as he was leaving through my front door, I mentioned that I needed to get some weatherstripping installed before winter and he proceeded to look the door and casing over really well and gave me some advice on how to make the repairs. Truly, what had been an enormously frustrating situation was turned into a pleasant situation with a 100% satisfactory ending!!! I will not hesitate for one moment to recommend Bill Myrick and Summer Windows to friends and neighbors! If you want professionalism and knowledge offered with a helpful and caring nature, please give Summer Windows a call! <br />"

"The appointment started off poorly . The installers were a half-hour late; however, they apologized and explained that the office was being opened in a new location that day and they had no phone or internet service. The installers immediately started work and worked diligently until they were done. The door looks very nice and they cleaned up after themselves. As far as we can tell, the door was installed properly. They explained the locking features of the door and also reviewed the installed door with us."

"HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Josh quickly found the source of a window leak that other specialists missed. This saved replacing flashing and windows in an attempt to stop the water leak. He also expertly replaced the inside trim around my window. It looks just like it should. I'm very grateful for the ways Josh went above and beyond. Josh seems to be doing what he does Best, being a secretary is not that, have patients and follow up. It's woth the effort."

"As always, Allison and her team were great! Showed up on time ands did a great job. Friendly and professional. She even reattached a piece of loose roof flashing! Will continue to use this company at least as long as Allison is employed. Scheduling is a little difficult with business owner - it can be a day or so of voice mail tag until scheduling can be arranged. I believe he used to have an office scheduler who was very pleasant but may have retired. Still he's very friendly - just may be a little swamped."

"Paramount Siding and Windows has installed windows and doors several times for us. Once for us in our home in Silverthorne. We installed 3 major windows which required working on the 2 level, cutting out new larger templates and building headers to install beautiful windows to enhance the mountain views. Recently we called Brandon O'Leary, owner, to come again to our Thornton home to take out a small sliding back door and replace it with a 7X8 foot tall sliding door. Again requiring a new header. Paramount built a dust free room to work in and kept our house nice and clean while they installed the project. The installers came on time and were very professional. Jon the production  manager stayed on top of the project to completion. The installers drywall work was impeccable and they matched our existing paint perfectly.  Our new door is beautiful and opened up our house to the outdoors!  We would highly recommend them to anyone who needs work done siding and windows. Now we will be budgeting for new and better windows for the rest of our home in the near future."

"Rise Renovation replaced all of our glass windows and siding doors about a year ago. From the office staff to the installers, everyone was kind and respectful. Nick and his team are great communicators and their customer service is great. We are very happy with the product. We have noticed a huge difference in the summers and winters. The house is much more comfortable and the thermostat is more steady. Would definitely hire them again and have already referred them to others."

"Our old 1890's house had some original wood windows in very bad shape. Nick at 5 seasons windows was great to work with, and was able to get the ball rolling with some basic phone pictures and general measurements. 5 seasons came out and custom measured and did a great job installing 5 fiberglass windows that work great and should last another 130 years. We did have one item to resolve when one of the window tints didn't match, but Nick was very responsive and helped us get it replaced in a timely manner. Overall a great experience, and we will definitely work with them again and am hoping they can help us with window/door replacement on another property as well."

"Rex Hayden of JDI Windows and Exteriors was incredible to work with and the end result was even better. He showed up on time to assess our windows and gave us a quote that was extremely reasonable. He walked us through the window replacement process and answered all of our questions. We replaced 10 windows of varying sizes. JDI installs Amerimax windows which are made and cut in Loveland, Colorado, which is extremely important when replacing windows at high altitude! On the day of the install, the crew showed up on time, completed the job in one day, and left our house clean. Rex kept in clear communication from start to finish, and covered the additional cost of an unforeseen issue with our metal window casings. JDI Windows and Exteriors is an honest, efficient, hardworking company who stands by their work and customer service."

FAQs for new windows service projects in Aurora, CO

Yes, bay windows add value to a home. They enhance the property by expanding the interior space and flooding rooms with natural light. Their unique three-panel design creates a stunning focal point that elevates curb appeal and modernizes living areas. This architectural detail increases both functional space and visual appeal, directly contributing to higher home resale value.

Yes, all window types have the potential to become part of a bay window configuration when modified correctly. The transformation involves reconfiguring standard windows into a multi-panel design that features a larger central window flanked by smaller ones. This process requires precise professional planning and custom framing to ensure durability, visual balance, and structural integrity.

Bay windows typically consist of three glass panels extending beyond the home's exterior walls, with a larger center panel flanked by two smaller ones. In contrast, bow windows are composed of four to six equally sized glass panels that create a gentle curve and do not extend as far from the exterior walls.

Bay windows cost more than standard windows because their expansive, multi-panel design requires additional materials and skilled labor. Their construction involves extra glass, specialized frame components that extend outward, and complex operating mechanisms. These technical demands necessitate precise engineering and multiple expert installations, thereby significantly increasing both material and labor expenses.

Bay windows cost three times more than standard double-hung windows because their design requires extra panels, expanded framing, and a more complex installation process. The advanced construction method increases material consumption and demands comprehensive expertise, while specialized window treatments further elevate expenses. This all results in a significant difference in overall project cost.
