"These guys are efficient and honest. They replaced our out dated water main which required removing part of the driveway. They were reasonably priced and doing the entire job was in the quoted cost of the project (e.g. pouring new concrete for the driveway). They were always on time. I can't recommend them enough."

"The estimators, Jake and Jeff, were also the installers. We discussed the options for relocating the water heater and installing it in the utility room. I was very pleased with the estimation process and the installation. Cost and service were excellent. Everybody should hire these guys."

"This company is the best!! I have always had difficulty arranging appointments with plumbers and Rogers Plumbing delivered! I’m a local realtor and I have been in contact with several plumbing companies in the Austin area, so the fact that this company that serviced my personal home was important! It started with Jacob coming to assess the plumbing after inspection of our home when it was under contract to give us an estimate. After we closed on the property earlier this month, Jacob was fantastic and fixed various problems over the course of 2 weeks. He doesn’t know this yet, but I have to call him again for yet another leak! Haha Thanks, Rogers Plumbing for answering the phone when I need you!!"

"Garrett’s Plumbing was a life saver. I have a copper waterline on the ice maker of my old refrigerator. No delivery company wanted to install the new refrigerator because of the copper waterline. Garrett’s plumbing came, assessed and fixed the problem. Now I’m just waiting for delivery of the new refrigerator. Thank you Garrett’s Plumbing. "

"They isolated the issue (leak in pipe from the main to the house). They quickly excavated the yard and repaired the pipe. They were very pleasant to work with and very professional."

"Daniel did such a great job! He installed a water softener in my home and made it look so good too! I've hired plumbers in the past that are sloppy but not Burls Plumbing, they are incredibly respectful and thoughtful with their work. I'm a customer for life!"

"This business came out, analyzed what my problem really was and recommended I use an A/C company to resolve it. He was very professional and thorough in his review of the problem. I plan to use him again when other plumbing issues come up. He did all of this as part of providing me with a free estimate of the cost of repairs."

"First company (Fast Plumbing) that was sent out by the insurance company was too tired to do the repair that day. Next day Fast Plumbing a no-show. I called them. The owner (Lee) said he did not want the job; to notify my insurance company. The insurance company called Roto-Rooter of Austin on this 3 day weekend. Their plumber arrived within several hours. He completed the job within 2 hours. He did not have to pull my toilets (as the other company's plumber had wanted to do). He simply passed his rooter line down the shower drain. He then walked around the outside of the house and found a main sewer clean-out site built into the wall and cleaned out again at this site. I was so grateful as I had been going to the toilet in my backyard. I am 70 yrs, with a cane and Medical Alert bracelet. I will always use Roto-Rooter if they continue to provide this excellent service. They have the man power & expensive equipment to do a job correctly. No I do not work for them!"

FAQs for sewer main install, replace or repair projects in Austin, TX

When installing a sewer line, you should consider extra costs like tree removal, driveway repairs, or patio resurfacing. Hiring a professional plumber is essential, and you may need additional specialists if landscaping or heavy excavation is involved. Addressing these potential extras up front helps ensure accurate budgeting and prevents sudden cost overruns.

To calculate the length of sewer piping you need, measure the distance from your house to the main sewer line, adding the depth of the city main to this distance. Be sure to account for any obstacles like tree roots or utility lines that may require additional piping.

City sewer lines are installed at a lower elevation to prevent unwanted backflow and water damage. This lower positioning ensures enhanced performance and long-term safety, meeting all technical and safety standards.

With trenchless methods, a plumber inserts a smaller pipe within the existing plumbing, avoiding full excavation. It can be more cost-effective and less disruptive than traditional methods, but it's not suitable for all homes.

Yes, you must secure permission from your local water authority before connecting to a public sewer line. This approval ensures your connection meets all regulatory requirements.

Sewer lines are buried between 18 inches and 8 feet deep, with most systems placed between 18 and 30 inches. In colder regions, pipes are set deeper to remain below the frost line.
