"From the first phone call to the office to get an estimate, to when the estimator came out to bid the job, to when the Forman came out to confirm the work that needed to be done, to the first day the crew showed up to start the job the process was professional and smooth. I would not only recommend Foothill Painting, I would use them again! I was very happy with the attention to detail and the good job Foothill Painting did. The preparation, patching and paint job was done well and the stucco repair matched the existing stucco real well. The Forman took his time to help us and make sure we choose the right colors for the house. It is apparent these guys take pride in their job! (rare these days) As with any large job there will be things you notice a week or two later that need to be touched up. All it took was a phone call to the office and one of the original crew members came out to take care of every request. Not only was everything done to my expectations, it was done with a smile and great attitude! Foothill Painting-Highly Recommended!!!"

"

Mr. Dove didn't do the work.  It was two of his employees or subcontractors.  The installation of the wiring, ceiling fan and ceiling light went fine, but the drywall repair wasn't that good.  The texture they sprayed on the walls didn't even remotely match the existing wall texture, so their patch job was obvious.  Also, they didn't reconnect something in one of the outlets so only the top socket worked.  When I notified Mr. Dove, he came out the next day to fix it.  I was impressed by Mr. Dove's professionalism, and would hire him again provided he did the work.

"We truly love Best Builders Group! We had a wonderful time during the remodeling work that they did at our house and we highly recommend this company! Zohar was able to deliver everything he promise and even more. We originally hired them to completely redo the kitchen and bathroom on top of few other tasks around the house. One of our friend is an interior designer by profession and she joined us and helped on the design of our new stunning kitchen, brand new cabinets, new hardware, paint, counter tops and more. Zohar and his team were able to join forces very well with her and we were happy by that because it saved us money. In the master bedroom and bathroom we removed the existing tub and installed new hot tub including the replacement of all the existing floors and walls in addition to replacing all the light fixtures and the vanity mirrors. We fell that we are very blessed by having Best Builders Group and that the remodeling project was completed right before the holidays. We are currently thinking of doing another project and of course we will hire Best Builders Group! We are very satisfied with all the people at Best Builders Group that were involved at our house project that we invited all of them for a BBQ after the job was done."

"We've been customers of Center Termite for a few years and we've maintained an annual contract with them for termite control. The inspectors have always been friendly and courteous, but the actual treatment has been questionable and the "front desk" is problematic. As to the termite treatment, it's hard to tell how effective it is. What we do know is that when we go into the garage or the attic or other areas they've treated, their chemicals have streaked the vertical surfaces, leaving an unsightly residue which I always have to remove a few days later. I thought a professional service would have a less conspicuous treatment that wouldn't leave visible residue. But we've just shrugged it off for years. We recently asked them to treat an ant infestation in our kitchen. We had to wait two weeks for an appointment (standard with them) and have recently discovered there are some outfits that will send someone within a day or two. We were also told that to treat the interior, we'd have to remove food and pets for a few hours. This is not practical for us, so they said they could just treat the exterior and under the house, and it should be perfectly effective. We agreed to this. After two weeks, the inspector came and treated. The cost was $143. However, the ants stuck around. We kept waiting, thinking maybe it would take a while for the treatment to take effect, all the while debating when it was time to call Center and tell them it was still a problem. After four weeks, we realized the ants weren't going away, and now they were in our food in the pantry. On Monday, July 30, I called Center to ask for another appointment, assuming we were still under warranty. That's when I learned the work carried a 1-month warranty and since it was done on June 28, and I was calling on July 30, the warranty had expired and we'd have to pay for the repeat service (and they could send someone out in two weeks)! Yes, I'm sure this is all in the small print, and that technically they are right, but the line that really annoyed me was when the young woman said, "Even if we wanted to do it under warranty, the 'system' won't let us." I hate when human beings tell you that their computer or their "system" won't allow them to do what's right. I asked to speak with her supervisor, who held the position that the warranty expired two days earlier (over the weekend), and she repeated the talking point about how their "system" wouldn't allow them to make an exception. I said, "Well, since your system is obviously the boss of you, can I please speak with your system?" She said that she was the one who made the decisions. I replied that she had just said her system wouldn't let her do it, so doesn't that make "the system" the real decision maker? This was all leading nowhere, of course, so I gave up, and said I wanted to cancel the remainder of our annual termite contract and receive a pro-rated refund for the time left on the contract. But we had purchased the renewal on March 7 and it carries until next March and they don't do pro-rated refunds for cancelled contracts. I guess the "system" won't allow it. So we are now researching a new termite/pest control that is not a slave to their system. A lot of places pass themselves as mom-and-pop, family owned businesses, but when human beings can't (or won't) make reasonable decisions on behalf of long term customers, and choose to blame it on technology, Game Over. Center Termite is canceled."

"Tom Cohen and Joe Sapir were great. They went through the possibilities and options with us, including what we could do with our budget and possibilities for financing. We bought our house as part of a repossessed hillside property, and we had to buy it in "as is" condition with decades of deferred maintenance. We had chipped away at fixing up the interiors over the past ten years, and were ready for a major (and long overdue) overhaul of the exteriors. The house is 1,200 square feet, but the garage is basically two stories with the living area on the third floor. That means a lot of stucco to repair and a lot of surface to paint. We needed new windows to replace the 50-year old ones that were original with the house, along with a new front door and sliding glass door in the back. This included expanding the size of the windows so that they were bigger (and actually up to code). The insulation in the attic was very old and needed to be replaced as well. Our garage door was dented (by a previous owner) and needed to be replaced along with the motor. Our back porch was falling apart, and we needed that repaired and painted. Our back yard had little privacy and was too hot to spend much time in for most of the year, so we also had them put in a large alumawood patio cover that extends over the porch and most of the yard (to the edge of our garden). It was important to us not to just pick a "low bid" contractor and instead to get a company that would do the work with high-quality materials and skilled crews with proper insurance and quality guarantees. We wanted this to be the last major overhaul we have to do on the exteriors of this house. The crews that came to do all of the work were very skilled, and worked with us to make sure they were doing exactly the work we wanted. Each phase of the project went quickly and efficiently, with prompt inspections and "touch-ups" afterwards to make sure everything was done well. Tom and Joe were very responsive and communicated well with us throughout the projects. We are very happy with the work, and we got our money's worth."

"It went very well considering that the raised foundation created a difficult first take of pouring concrete within 4 foot high moldings....the team of exports knocked this out without a delay in time or schedule. Our family couldn't be happier with the results and extra 500 sq. feet of living space.

FAQs for exterior shutters installation and replacement projects in Avalon, CA

The best material for exterior shutters depends on your preferences. Natural wood offers a classic and timeless look but requires more maintenance. Vinyl, composite, and aluminum shutters provide low-maintenance options with modern styles. Consider your design goals and maintenance preferences to choose the material that ensures both beauty and durability.

Professional shutter installers handle the installation of exterior and interior shutters. They ensure precise fitting and secure mounting so your shutters function properly and enhance your home's curb appeal. Hiring an experienced professional guarantees your shutters are correctly aligned and built to withstand environmental conditions, providing long-lasting protection for your home.

Estate shutters cost an average of $2,990, with prices ranging from $300 to $8,400. Their total price varies based on size, material quality, and installation requirements. While they come with a higher price tag, estate shutters enhance your home's security and add a luxurious aesthetic to your house.

Exterior window shutters are worth the cost for many homeowners, offering aesthetic and functional benefits. They enhance your home's appearance, add security, improve energy efficiency, and protect against severe weather conditions. Investing in exterior shutters can increase your home's value, make it more attractive to future buyers, and provide long-term benefits.

Whether it's cheaper to buy new shutters or paint them depends on their condition. Painting shutters costs $200 to $500 on average and can refresh their appearance if they're in good shape. However, replacing your shutters may be more cost-effective in the long run if they are significantly worn or damaged.

Double-hung, casement, and slider windows are most suitable for exterior shutters, as they accommodate standard dimensions and allow for secure attachment. Unique window types like bay, dormer, and picture windows may not work well with functional shutters due to their shapes and incur higher labor costs due to the complexity of installation.
