"Five years ago, We purchased a high end two stage furnace and central air system from Crisafulli , all at the salesman’s recommendation. We used their yearly service contract to check and maintain ( these contracts are questionable in value and Crisafulli is poor at renewal notifications). The system worked as expected for that period until an unusually warm stretch in August. Without warning, the furnace blower appeared to malfunction. It cycled on but would not run more than a minute or two. After trying some things in the troubleshooting section, we called Crisafulli. They came promptly but could not determine the cause of the malfunction. Apparently the tech had no experience with this two stage components. After four hours and a discussion with Rheem support, they decided to replace the circuit board and motor, not able to exactly determine the problem. This took a week to get parts. In the meantime I was able to self help on the Internet and determined the ECM module in the furnace blower was malfunctioning.Tech returned and Replaced that item first and the system fired up. I note that they are terrible on communication re service contracts and parts status. Rheem covered the part under warranty but I was still out 400 bucks for service and labor. Rheem has not fessed up about fragility of their ECM motors system after writing their CEO. The salesman should have been more diligent about evaluating our duct system for suitability for this system. Crisafulli repair Tech was punctual , friendly and neat. Firm is so so price- wise and and as previously noted, terrible on communication. Advise to stay away from these more complex systems unless there is a full evaluation of your entire duct system. Can’t recommend Rheem at all."

"I have once again been extremely impressed by Wilson Bros! This time, Chris came to replace a leaking waste water pipe from the bathroom to the basement, as well as redo a system of leaking and overly complicated water pipes and valves in the basement utility closet. As always, Chris did an amazing job. The work is neat, professional, and just right. You can tell he takes great pride in his work. Even better, Chris shows the utmost courtesy, and takes the time to explain the work in detail and listen to my concerns. Chris even took the time to set up tarps under his work areas and thoroughly clean up when the work was finished, leaving behind no debris whatsoever. Thank you, Wilson Bros! You are without a doubt the best contractor I have found in the Albany area!"

"I had a problem with a spider that made a nest in a real small tube in my gas furnace. The nest was preventing the gas from igniting properly throughout the system. It took them a long time, but they found it. It wasn't your typical problem. <br /> <br /> They do good work and maintained it under warranty. They show up on time."

"We recently refinanced our house and wanted to convert our baseboard hot water heat and electric hot water service to a gas boiler and tankless hot water heater. <br /> We had two highly rated firms from Angie's List come in and give us estimates. The other company came in, took a quick look around, asked me what I wanted, asked me to send them the number of linear feet of radiators we have, then sent me a quote.  <br /> Tom Weaver from Polsinello came over, looked around the house, looked carefully at the existing heating installation, explained the options available and the pros and cons of each. In particular, after my initial research I'd been thinking of having a direct hot water heater installed, but Tom realized that we have hard water because he saw our water softener and explained to me that hard water can cause problems with direct tankless systems and recommended an indirect system at virtually the same price. He also went through the rebates available for upgrading our heating system in detail. <br /> The two estimates differed by less than 5%, so we went with Polsinello. They did a very good job of removing the old boiler, cleaning up some oddities in the plumbing of the heating pipes, and installing the new equipment. There was a challenge hooking up the hot water because the old (electric) hot water heater was not located near the boiler, but they came up with an alternative solution and discussed it with me before proceeding. <br /> The only issue I have had through the entire process is that there were 2-3 details that haven't gotten closed out. They promised to provide me with two programmable thermostats, and I have only received one (though I'm promised that the other is coming), they said they would return and repair a place where they had to cut into the cabinets under the kitchen sink to connect the hot water, and I haven't received the post-installation paperwork to apply for the rebates.  <br /> Overall, I was very impressed with their pre-sales thoroughness and workmanship, very pleased with the installation, and assuming they're going to get the remaining details wrapped up in the near future, would strongly recommend them for work of this type."

"This is a very professional and well-run business. Calls are returned promptly, workers are efficient, competent and respectful. Rick, Nate and Steve demonstrated their extensive knowledge and skill throughout the project. In particular, Steve was very helpful, answered all questions thoroughly and went out of his way to complete work in a timely fashion. I have no reservation recommending Duell Plumbing for small or extensive projects. <br />"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Ballston Spa, NY

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
