This was a bit annoying since I was very clear in describing the problem before he came out. However, another guy came out first thing in the morning and did a great job diagnosing the issue and took the time to show me and explain his assessment, along with options. They charge $65 to come out for diagnosis. My total for over an hour of camera work on two lines from inside the house and diagnosing the issue was $326. "Since I do not know what the going rate is for a lateral line repair we got two quotes. Mr. Rooter gave us a cheaper quote than the other. After speaking with a number of people (friends/family) they tell us we paid too much. Later after work had been started I learned South St. Louis county has a lateral line repair program which would do the repair at no cost to the customer. This program was never mentioned during the time when given quotes by either company. Because the work had already been started and paid for, we could not get re-imbursed through the south county lateral line program from msd.
