"I am a happy woman. They gave me excellent service. Removed old wood frames from basement windows of 1920's house and installed glass blocks with center vent. Neat, clean, quick, friendly. No debris left behind anywhere. I was not satisfied with the cosmetic look of the sill on two of the windows and they came out immediately and adjusted to my liking - nothing wrong, just me. That's the kind of customer service you dream about ... so I highly recommend this company. And, my basement is full of light, just like they said it would be!! <br />"

"I had 12 windows and 1 door installed plus 3 corner fascia. Kurt did the job and he was very meticulous. He was great with letting me know the installation process step by step and answering any questions. Very neat inside and outside. If he moved something, he put it back when finished. Window trim and fascia perfectly matched the color of existing wood trim on the house. It's a beautiful job and I'm very happy with it."

"I highly recommend this company - they are solid from top to bottom and do what they say they will do. They do not use high pressure sales tactics, which I really appreciated given experiences with other competitors in the industry. Their office is easy to work with, and so is their service manager and technicians. I've been working with Polar Seal for several years now, and they ended up installing all of the windows in my home, in addition to a couple sliding doors. In the rare instance where we've had a quality issue, their service techs visit right away and fix the problem - no questions asked. When the last batch of windows got installed we did end up with an unexpected order error which was partially my fault and partially theirs. I worked with Polar Seal's president to come up with a mutually agreeable solution and couldn't be happier with the end result. Seeing the company work through this with me, and avoiding something that could have easily gone the other way, made me an even bigger fan of this company. If you're looking for windows, I strongly suggest considering Polar Seal!"

"We cannot say enough good things about Carpentry Plus. We were extremely pleased with their expertise, professionalism, and work. In addition, Brad and his family are so friendly and personable that we felt like they were old friends. We hired them to put vinyl siding on our 2-story wood house and 2-car garage. As the work proceeded we discovered that there was extensive water damage to the wood in several places on both the house and garage. These included the chimney, the three-season room, and the bottom plate around the perimeter of the garage walls. As a master carpenter Brad Green resolved these issues in a creative and effective way. After replacing all the rotted wood in these areas, he installed flashing around the garage and closed-in three-seasons room to help prevent future damage. The three-seasons room was in such seriously bad shape that it almost needed to be rebuilt. All these issues added a lot of extra work and time to the project. Brad let us know every step of the way what was happening with the job and we were grateful that Brad agreed to take the time to do the extra work--well beyond the original agreement. We have not had any water in the garage since the work was completed and we are so happy to have our three-seasons room repaired. And the siding looks beautiful generating compliments from our neighbors. Really great attention to detail!"

"I was very satisfied with the windows. I was told it would be 5 weeks before it could be done but there was a last minute cancellation and it was done the day after I signed the contract. After the installation was done, they made sure everything was cleaned up and actually left my house in better condition than when they started."

"They suggested the motor could be fixed but I decided that due to the age of the unit it would be better to replace it. They took the old motor unit and remotes with them which I can only assume can be reinstalled somewhere else after it's fixed I asked if there was a coupon on Angie's list and the installer did say yes but he would have to charge me for the time it took to print it. I would assume since I relinquished the old motor and remotes that I should receive a rebate on this job without further cost. Probably won't use them again or refer their services to friends. <br />"

"I spent quite a while looking for a contractor to tear off original steel gutters and replace all gutters and downspouts with new on a large 1939 vintage Georgian Brick home. It had decorative and quot;catch binand quot; features on the downspouts on the front of the house and I wanted someone who could give me at least something similar when the downspouts were replaced. They advised me well on the selection of commercial grade 4and quot; downspout material and provided the grey color we wanted to match our trim, etc. The work was specified and executed cleanly and everything was cleaned up after the work was done. The gutters have now been in place for quite some time and we have had no problems with them except for some storm damage. They sent a man out a couple of times now at really minimal charge for adjustments and a roof repair associated with a 2013 ice storm which felled a 9and quot; diameter maple tree branch against the house breaking a hole in the 2nd story roof and bending the gutters in two places. I am thinking of having them back to replace the runs that got bent rather than living with the straightened sections because the damage was significant, and they could not re-bend the edges of the gutters cleanly from the rooftop position. <br />"

FAQs for new windows service projects in Bath, MI

Yes, bay windows add value to a home. They enhance the property by expanding the interior space and flooding rooms with natural light. Their unique three-panel design creates a stunning focal point that elevates curb appeal and modernizes living areas. This architectural detail increases both functional space and visual appeal, directly contributing to higher home resale value.

Yes, all window types have the potential to become part of a bay window configuration when modified correctly. The transformation involves reconfiguring standard windows into a multi-panel design that features a larger central window flanked by smaller ones. This process requires precise professional planning and custom framing to ensure durability, visual balance, and structural integrity.

Bay windows typically consist of three glass panels extending beyond the home's exterior walls, with a larger center panel flanked by two smaller ones. In contrast, bow windows are composed of four to six equally sized glass panels that create a gentle curve and do not extend as far from the exterior walls.

Bay windows cost more than standard windows because their expansive, multi-panel design requires additional materials and skilled labor. Their construction involves extra glass, specialized frame components that extend outward, and complex operating mechanisms. These technical demands necessitate precise engineering and multiple expert installations, thereby significantly increasing both material and labor expenses.

Bay windows cost three times more than standard double-hung windows because their design requires extra panels, expanded framing, and a more complex installation process. The advanced construction method increases material consumption and demands comprehensive expertise, while specialized window treatments further elevate expenses. This all results in a significant difference in overall project cost.
