The salesman who met with me name John did not pressure me to buy the most expensive windows, it was a pleasure to speak with the salesman who doesn’t try to pressure you into getting the most expensive things and he really showed he cared about me getting the best windows for my home. Even Jennifer who is the co-owner and answers the phones is polite and calls and checks up to let you know when your windows will be there when they arrive. The man who came here to work on the windows were three of them. It took them about seven hours to install all three windows and the patio doors it was so quick I was stunned. They even vacuumed and took all the old windows away. You wouldn’t even know they were here because unlike other contractors I’ve hired and I’ve hired many because I just moved into a new home they left my house spotless. I will absolutely use them again if I need to for another window I have for anything else they do. I highly recommend them I met with four other window manufacturers and they were so overpriced and aggressive in trying to make the sale. Men With tools where the total opposite. Again if you want to professionalism, courteous, a lifetime warranty, and the job done quickly and efficiently absolutely hire this company. I can go on anon but I’ll stop but I was so impressed with this company and I highly recommend them to you and I tell you you won’t be disappointed. The day after my windows were done Joanne the salesman who came here called me to ask me how everything went even gave me his cell phone number to let me know if I ever need something done with the windows or patio doors to call him because his lifetime warranty. You don’t get service like this anymore these days it was great that this company is old school and actually cares about the customers and doesn’t try to sell you the most expensive items they have to make a buck."

"Ron, the company president, came out to give me an estimate. He was very upfront and thorough, and I felt comfortable with what he told me. He seemed a little taken aback when I asked for a written contract, but wrote one up on the spot anyway. They called to follow up a week later, and I placed my order, along with the required $500 deposit. On installation day, the installers showed up on time. However, they didn't seem to speak much English, and I had to inform them they were looking at the wrong windows. With that cleared up, they set to work - without much of a break - for about 6 hours, installing the new glass blocks. I was impressed by their work ethic, but when they had questions the language barrier seemed pretty steep. The previous owner had run some wires through the old window sills, wires we had since disconnected. The installers, unfortunately, didn't ask before running them through the mortar. I noticed before the mortar dried, and was able to take the wires out and re-pack the mortar. Overall, they did a nice job, and the windows seem very securely installed."

After a branch shattered my ten-year-old skylight, Chris and Andy did a superb job replacing the sash and removing the glass. "Pedro arrived when scheduled. Gave us estimate on glass replacement. He said it would take two weeks for the glass replacements to be made. Two weeks passed and he called to setup an installation appointment. He arrived with a helper. In an hours time he had the glass replaced in the tops of four different window. He is very professional, careful, and neat. The windows he repaired look as good as when they came out of the factory. I would definitely use Pedro again. <br />"

"I ordered 4 double hung windows to replace 2 bay windows in my house. The windows were made as ordered and fit perfectly. A price was agreed upon when the order was placed and I put down half as the deposit. Four weeks later when I picked up the windows, I was told there was a slight difference in the price.... to my surprise, the price was actually lowered. It turned out a lower tax rate was approved since the order was placed, I would never of known about it if they hadn't lowered my bill. I find this honesty very refreshing in today's world and would definitely use GILD-N-SON again. <br />"

"I cannot recommend this company more highly. My first interaction was with Bruce (the owner) several months ago. He initially came to assess all the windows in my apartment which were decades old and in need of repair. Initially, my thought was to repair the windows and replace 2 storm windows that had broken during recent severe weather. When Bruce arrived he took measurements and answered my many questions about replacing the windows vs. repairing them. I felt his advice was given 100% with my best interests at heart and not at all in a way that was intended to upsell me into replacing my windows. We both agreed that my existing windows were in sad shape and not very energy efficient. <br /> <br />Bruce thoroughly inspected the windows and frames and pointed out several rotting pieces of wood that would have to be replaced and which were presently causing gaps around my windows where heat and air conditioning were escaping (which solved the mystery of why my windows were so drafty). By the time he was finished, I still had not made up my mind about whether to replace or repair my windows. I asked Bruce to give me estimates both ways. <br /> <br />Over the next several weeks there were many communications (mostly in the form of emails) between Bruce and I discussing options, prices, and still much needed advice. Bruce was very patient and kept saying that he wanted me to be comfortable with my choice. He was true to his word and in the end made an agreement with me that took out several unknown variables in order to give me a firm, set price (there are many variables such as the degree to which wood is rotted and needs to be replaced, the difficulty of capping <br />/wrapping old window frames, etc that you sometimes can't know until you have started the job). Because of Bruce's willingness to work with me, I made the decision in the end to replace all windows, replace wood as needed and have the exterior frames wrapped with metal. <br /> <br />While I knew it was the right decision, I was still a little uneasy because I had not started with the set idea of changing the windows and braced for the cost of doing such...that was until the day they started the installation. Three very nice workmen came to my apartment and began the arduous task of removing the old windows and putting in the new. The minute I saw the first of the new quality windows in it's place, I immediately knew it was the right decision and that I owed a debt of gratitude to Bruce. It took an unexpected 3 days to install the windows and many unexpected things presented themselves (old windows were tarred-in in spots, frames were uneven and capping/wrapping much more time consuming, etc). Again, true to his word, Bruce and All About Windows just handled the <br /> unexpected things as they arose and did a beautiful job of installation. I am now enjoying much more energy efficient, beautiful windows. <br /> <br />I should also mention that I am in the business of renovating houses in the DC area and have myself had dozens of windows replaced so I know what it looks like when done right. Bruce and company performed the task like the professional experts that they are. If you are looking to have anything done with windows or glass - I would highly recommend this company. <br /> <br />"
