"Chris Peplinski came out and gave us a fair and honest estimate on fixing our foundation. Alex and crew arrived and installed helical piers to shore up our foundation and you couldn’t tell they were even here. Everything from the first call to the install was top notch! Highly Recommend!"

"They installed a heavy duty sump with battery back-up, drainage around perimeter and center of basement and a dry well in back yard. They also patched cracks in floor. When they were done, they cleaned up everything, and the place was immaculate. I thoroughly recommend them!"

"From start to finish I could not be happier.   I had an idea (a rough idea) of what I wanted to do.    Dan sat with me (listened with patience) and helped me work through the details of my project, he talked to me about what was important and what was not... after he helped me design the building and details that went along with it.    Along the way he worked with me to make adjustments to the design, as well as offered ideas and solutions to reduce my cost (he saved me about 15%).   There were things I didn't think about when I put my plans in place, Dan communicated with me along the way allowing me to think through the changes as well as the pros/cons of doing so.   There were changes we made along the way that make a lot of sense now that the building is complete.   Amazing work!!! <br /> To find a builder who can complete the work start to finish, stay true to his commitments, and more importantly listen to you is not easy to find.   Dan fits this mold. <br /> I have worked with at least 10 builders in the last 20 years...   this is the first review I have written.   The reason I am writing this review is Dan did an awesome job!    From start to finish communication was great, the work was awesome, and the price was right.    With 100% confidence I would recommend Dan and Patriot Builders to take on a small project to building a high end 6,000 sq foot home.   I am attaching my personal cell phone if you would like to personally talk to me - Frank (913) 461-7217  I will be more then happy to show you the work he did. <br /> Dan, thank you!   Its nice to work with folks who get stuff done! <br />"

"Expert House Movers brought a crew of 6-8 & came in late August 2013 to start the process of raising & moving the house.  My husband had done all the prep work of disconnecting the utilities & removing the furnace, etc. They dug access ramps to the old foundation/basement with bobcats.  They poked good sized holes around the foundation so they could put in steel beams and jack up the house.  Our foundation was from 1917 & built from old creek gravel cement, so it was pretty tough.  It took three & half days to jack the house & move it over the driveway.  It seemed really fast to me.  The only thing to fall in the house was a picture off the piano.  We still had access to the house through a tall ladder to get clothes, etc. that we needed. <br /> We took over the process of arranging excavation, concrete pouring, and carpenters with more local contractors.  Expert does have concrete people & others they use in the St Louis area that know exactly the requirements needed for the new foundation. <br /> After the basement was poured & cured (curing takes about 3-4 weeks), Expert returned in October 2013 to move & set the house.  They had been in contact with the concrete man for specifications, but there were no slots for the beams when setting the house down.  A concrete worker had to come & cut those slots.  We had a carpenter on hand to finish the sill installment & make sure the sills for the permanent beams was correct & set the support posts in the basement.  We also had a friend's tractor help Expert's bobcat pull the house back over the foundation.  While all this was going on, Expert was jacking and moving supports & placing slider beams & raising & lowering the house.  The process was complete in about 2 1/2 days with care & precision.  Some of the cracks in our house even disappeared.  Great job guys. <br /> Our carpenters returned to build a staircase & some other requirements.  We are working on re-connecting utilities & returning the furnace, water heater, etc. to the new basement.  We plan to move back into the house in the first week or so in November 2013.  It's been a long process, but well worth it.  Made possible by Expert House Movers! <br />"

"A young contractor who understands old homes? Yes please! <br /> Working with Jay and Jenn of Pro-Tech was great. They were very helpful in guiding us through a process which in hindsight was a bit aggressive for two new homeowners. To give you some context, we close on Valentine's Day which was on a Tuesday. We had movers hauling our stuff on that Friday. The very next Saturday, I was busting up our existing kitchen helping the Pro-Tech guys with some of the demolition work. <br /> What started the work was our home inspector recommended we upgrade the copper water piping. When Jay told us what we had to do to get that done, I asked him if it were possible to leave certain walls "open". He asked, "Are you talking kitchen remodel?" And so it began. <br /> We were on a budget. Jay helped us develop a plan to revitalize our kitchen without needing to rely on ramen and sardines as diet staples. <br /> Many times, it was just Jay working on our kitchen, but for the major updates he brought his crew and they were respectful and skilled. Never once did we worry about who was working on our home. <br /> Anyway, we appreciated their work so much, we're having them back on an emergency restoration project, which is their specialty. <br />"

"This did not go well. Northland Basement has a three step program to get started on Radon Testing and Mitigation as reflected on their web site. STEP 1: Contact us by calling or e-mailing us. STEP 2: Our Radon Gas Measurement Specialist will install the Continuous Radon Monitor (CRM). This visit will take about five minutes, during which time the specialist makes sure that the CRM is placed in the best location in your house. The specialist will also make sure you're informed of the required conditions for accurate testing. STEP 3: The specialist will return after a minimum of 48 hours have passed. During this second meeting, the specialist will print your radon testing results right there on the spot. This process should take between 10 and 15 minutes. I received a phone call from the company representative on the day he was suppose to come to my home. He asked what I wanted to do and I told him I was expecting them to retest my home for radon and then could decide what action, if any, to take for mitigation. So, what they state on the web site differs from the work that they will actually perform. The person in the office who scheduled my appointment stated that radon mitigation could cost anywhere from $800 to $1500. The Northland Basement Systems representative who was coming to my home said that costs start at $1250. First red flag. Then he told me they don't do testing but he would mail me a test kit if I wanted it retested. Second red flag. He basically wanted to come and tell me how much it would cost for radon mitigation and install a radon mitigation system. All that he was telling me was in direct conflict with what their web site states (see above and attached picture). As you can see their web site states they will set up the Continuous Radon Monitor (CRM) and come back in about 48 hours. They will print out the results on the spot and if the result is above EPA standards they will give a free estimate to install a radon mitigation system. I don't want to invest in a system without confirmation that radon exists. Also, if you look on the internet, several sites indicate that short-term radon tests are not accurate which is why I wanted confirmation of the Continuous Radon Monitor (CRM) test. I'm sure this company would do a good job of installing a radon mitigation system; however, they need to follow their guidelines as stated on their web site or change the web site to agree with the work they will actually perform. Also, both the office representative and the company representative who was scheduled to come to my home didn't seem to know what was on the web site. They really need to correct their web site because I was basing my decision to hire them based on what they said they would do."

FAQs for concrete injection leveling mudjacking projects in Bear Lake, MI

Mudjacking and foam jacking differ significantly in both materials and methods. Mudjacking uses a cement-based slurry to fill voids beneath a slab, while foam jacking uses expanding polyurethane foam delivered under high pressure to achieve superior structural support. This material distinction enhances load-bearing strength and overall stability in your repair.

Mudjacking takes between one and three days to dry completely. During this time, it's important to avoid putting weight on the slab until it's fully cured. The drying time depends on the project size and environmental conditions. In contrast, polyurethane foam used in foam jacking can cure in as little as one hour.

No, mudjacking is not a permanent fix for sinking concrete. While it effectively lifts the slab and can last five to 10 years, it doesn't address underlying soil issues that may cause future sinking. For a more permanent solution, you might consider foam jacking or complete slab replacement, which can address deeper structural problems.
