"Scott did an amazing job for us on multiple occasions. From digging out a parking area and spreading stone to fixing old plugged drain tile. We always look forward to him coming. Very timely, very clean, and understanding on projects that take a twist once started. "

"I was very satisfied with the Rogers Basement Waterproofing work. I had several estimates done by other companies that were proposing a drainage system that is not optimal (there are several YT videos where their "patented system" is just ripped off since it does not work). Moreover, these companies do not take into account the fact that my basement is finished (I have a family room, bathroom, and two offices in the basement) and they just offer to destroy everything and let you rebuild it on your own afterwards. Paul was very considerate, installed only the internal drain where it was needed. I was surprised how clean they were (the job is messy, involves breaking the cement basement floor, digging the trench, filling it with gravel and drain pipe, installing the sump pump and pipes to connect to the storm sewer outside). The team was very efficient and organized, covered all the "traveled areas" with foil, and cleaned after their work. It took them 2 days during January, and I no longer have water problem. They are not "the cheapest" (but only a few hundred bucks more expensive than my least expensive estimate from other companies), but they did an excellent work. They do not push you with marketing techniques. Paul just said "If you are interested, just call us and if you want recommendations I can show you hundreds of them, since I did a lot of work in this are". I actually did not need then, since he was recommended by our friends that were very satisified with their work. I wholeheartedly recommend them."

"Crew was excellent, professional and responsive. New block, excavation and replacement with steel reinforcements was also excellent. Issues related to finish and tie-in work that were not of the same quality as the 2003 replacement of the side foundation by the Company. Blue board gap shows at soil foundation to house brick level (response - Company’s prior sub did faux brick gap finish on his own! Only now sole water leak is at joinder of Company’s new foundation to old - response: you should pay for water proofing! Caution: Be aware, contract and watch the finish work of the project!"

"These guys are great. They are prompt, thorough, and do a beautiful job. They will help you design your landscaping to fit your needs and style. Very approachable and helpful. They cost a little more, but do a better job. Other companies did not do edging or same amount of detail that they do. We have used them many times, have never been disappointed. <br />"

"We needed to have some tuck point work done on our brick home. We found Miltech through Angi. They responded promptly and asked for a description of the work and some photos of the ares affected. They sent us back a proposal with an estimate of what the job would cost. Since it was a relatively small job, they were able to work us right into their schedule. As they did the work they were able to identify some other spots that needed repair that we could not see from the ground. The work was done in a timely manner and looked great. I will call them again when we need work done. Thank you Miltech."

"These guys rock! They removed part of my garage floor and dug large holes (by hand) to get under the footer to lift the foundation block between my garage and famiiy room. They were punctual, friendly, hard working and really cared that they did a good job. They cleaned up every night and made sure my house and garage were secured one night when I could not be there when they left. <br /> Excellent service and quality. It was fun watching a large crack in my family room wall close up before my eyes as they hydraulically lifted the footer and foundation wall. Don't be fooled by other companies that have videos and thick booklets to do their selling for them. <br />"

"It was good, but it took them forever to get it done -- about 7 months. I know they had to order the stone from overseas, but I had to keep calling and following up with them to learn the status of my stone. The work itself was great, and he did call me after the installation to make sure I was happy."

"The owner, Matt Anderson, was great to work with. He came and priced it out and gave me an estimate. He was able to work quickly to get us on the calendar. It was a week-long project. The crew was very good to work with and they explained what they were doing. They gave us examples of things to look out for if we had any further concerns and responded to any of our questions. They explained the rationale and process they were using. They included us in making the decisions and wanted to make sure that we were comfortable with moving forward with the rest of the project after the excavation. There were some damages because of the machinery they used and they purchased replacement pieces, which was appreciated."

FAQs for gravel or loose fill paving install, spread or scrape projects in Bellefontaine, OH

To calculate how much pea gravel you need for your project, multiply the length, width, and depth of the area you want to cover to find the volume in cubic feet. Then, divide that number by 27 to convert it to cubic yards to determine the amount of pea gravel you need.

A yard of pea gravel weighs about 1.3 tons or 2,600 pounds. Keep in mind that wet gravel weighs more than dry, and different types of gravel can vary in weight. For example, due to its density, river rock weighs significantly more than crushed stone and pea gravel.

The ideal depth for pea gravel depends on the type and size of your project. You'll need at least two to three inches for walkways and patios and a minimum of six inches for driveways to support heavy vehicles and prevent shifting over time. Aim for a depth of three to four inches in decorative garden beds or drainage areas.

Pea gravel is attractive, versatile, and low-maintenance. It provides excellent drainage, making it ideal for pathways, driveways, and garden beds. On the downside, its sharp texture isn't ideal for bare feet, and it can be challenging to weed or remove once installed. It can also shift underfoot without proper edging, creating an uneven surface.

Alternative landscaping materials you can use instead of pea gravel include wood chips, decomposed granite, crushed stone, pebbles, quartz, mulch, sand, and river rock. These materials offer different aesthetics, performance, and costs, so it’s important to do your research to determine which one best fits your landscape design and budget.

Many homeowners choose pea gravel because it requires minimal upkeep compared to other landscaping materials. You'll need to rake it occasionally to redistribute the stones and maintain an even surface. Pros also recommend installing weed barrier fabric beneath the gravel to prevent unwanted growth, although some weeds may still appear over time.
