"Technician showed up at the exact time - I have a fifteen year old roll-up residential garage door - replaced a remote and lubed the tracks - in and out 15 mins max and charged me $100 - he said it was for the remote control - I paid for convenience at this point - for most garage door companies, a service call fee alone is often $75–$125, and a universal remote typically costs $25–$50 retail - so $100 for the visit plus the remote is within normal range, especially for same-day or on-time service - mostly paid for the service call, not the part."
