"I asked for a rep to come to give quotes for repair or replacement of my gas boiler. Before he came the old boiler failed, and Heritage was able to quickly install a new one so that we without heat and hot water for only a short time."

"When I initially called the office, my call was taken by a real person and all details of the job were discussed, including the amount charged per hour. We scheduled a time and date, and both were met exactly as planned. All work was done to our satisfaction. Will definitely use this plumber again and would definitely recommend to others. <br />"

"The Badger brothers fixed my sulphur-smelling water heater by replacing an anode and also added a condensate drainage pipe to our furnace. Their work was of high quality and they worked more quickly than I expected, finishing the job in just a couple hours. They had previously come to my house last year to look at some leaking pipes and were both efficient and fair about prices. I would definitely hire them again. <br />"

"Simmon's came in and helped us after pipes in an upstairs bathroom sprung a leak. They responded quickly, probed the ceiling with minimal impact, and found the root cause, a poor quality renovation where the previous contractor used mismatched materials that corroded after only a decade. They had us back online with our upstairs bathroom with intact plumbing within the day. We have also used them for other plumbing jobs and AC jobs. They are very good."

"After waiting and waiting and waiting for a different plumber to do the job, I asked a friend who owns a plumbing supply store whom to use. The qualities I sought were: reliability, availability, quality of work and a reasonable price. With no hesitation the name Randy (given name 'Walter') Pierce was mentioned and moments later, my phone rang and it was Randy calling to set up an estimate or appointment. <br /> <br /> The next day, Randy Pierce and his brother, Gary, showed up when they said they would. The old hot and cold faucets were replaced with single-lever faucets in a tub/shower and a separate shower stall. The trip-lever drain was also replaced in tub/shower after some replumbing of the waste lines in the basement. <br /> <br /> Randy and Gary were pleasant to work with. They were picky with the appearance of the solder joints which would soon forever be hidden in the walls. The price seemed very reasonable."

"Several times (during the winter) automatic delivery of propane was not performed, and I had to use portable heaters to keep the pipes from freezing. When I called them to ask about the deliveries, I was unable to get "emergency" deliveries without paying a hefty surcharge, despite the fact that the auto-delivery failures were their fault. In three events, they failed to deliver the propane saying that the driveway had not been sufficiently plowed (despite FedEx, UPS, the oil delivery company, and ourselves were able to get in and out). I learned when speaking to a driver one day, that this company makes the DRIVERS pay out of their own pockets for towing or any other expenses incurred if they get stuck, and as a result they are extremely cautious and averse to driving on road conditions that are not "perfect." This policy, in my opinion, reflects very poorly on this company's treatment of employees, and I'll never use them again."

"They were professional and helpful. There was an issue with the forced hot water pipes after they replaced the boiler, and they came back right away to fix it. The boiler has been in place for two years now and has worked flawlessly. They also serviced my gas fireplace and replaced a part. It has also worked perfectly since their service. <br />"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Berwick, ME

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
