"After months of agonizing research and consultations with 4 different sized window companies, we recently chose Steve and Zen Windows Twin Cities to replace the majority (10) of the windows in our home. Not only are we extremely happy with the quality of the window products (Soft-Lite vinyl casements and sliders), but we had a great experience with the consultation, measurement and installation process. Steve proved to be very knowledgable and a great resource in helping us make our window choices, without the pressured pitch or manipulation that we'd felt with other sales reps. Frankly, the experience was like having a "friend in the business" over to talk shop over a beer. We very much appreciated the up front and direct communication without having to navigate through layers of reps and project managers that often comes with a large national company. To that end, we felt like we got a great value for our money knowing that Zen's prices were not bloated to cover the overhead and marketing of these larger vendors. Finally, we felt very confident in the lifetime guarantee of the products and installation service we purchased, knowing that any issues down the road would be addressed without charges or service fees. While Steve is a local small business owner, Zen is a national franchise who would honor these guarantees should Steve retire or close his local shop. Almost six months in, we are very happy with our windows and even happier with our overall experience with Zen. We would highly recommend them! In fact, our neighbors just signed a large window project with Steve recently based on our positive experience and recommendation."

"I was shocked at how fast two guys completed the job. 8 windows removed and replaced in less than 4hrs. (On a Saturday!) They cleaned up everything and we were so happy with the results. When I saw the add on Facebook I had no intentions of getting the windows done. I was basically just looking to get a idea of what it would cost. Well Calvin came out and after his presentation and all his knowledge we couldn’t say no. He’s been there through the whole process and was available for all our questions."

"We used their "economy quote" service where we took pictures of the area where we wanted the window and sent them in to the company, and the total price included a discount since they didn't have to send anyone out to our house in order to do the quote.  We chose to have them remove the dirt from the premises and install interior trim around the window which cost extra.  Everything went smoothly.  We went with their basic egress window package (standard window size, metal well) and we're pleased with the quality of the window itself as well as with their work.  They did a great job cleaning up when they were finished, were very respectful of our home, and took the time to answer our questions about maintenance when they were finished with the installation.  We would definitely use them again. <br> <br>"

"The installed glass carries a long warranty. Labor is only for a year. I therefore expected that Andy would arrange to replace the defective glass, and I would pay the labor charge. Andy's examination of the defective glass led him to conclude that this was a manufacturing defect and that he would lean on his supplier to replace the glass for no charge at all. That he did, wjile it took him several calls to get the supplier finally to come out. Andy's persistence paid off for us. I previously gave Trustworthy the highest possible grades on two projects they have done for my family. I add this one to show that they do live up to their promises and are, indeed, TRUSTWORTHY!"

FAQs for new windows service projects in Big Lake, MN

Yes, bay windows add value to a home. They enhance the property by expanding the interior space and flooding rooms with natural light. Their unique three-panel design creates a stunning focal point that elevates curb appeal and modernizes living areas. This architectural detail increases both functional space and visual appeal, directly contributing to higher home resale value.

Yes, all window types have the potential to become part of a bay window configuration when modified correctly. The transformation involves reconfiguring standard windows into a multi-panel design that features a larger central window flanked by smaller ones. This process requires precise professional planning and custom framing to ensure durability, visual balance, and structural integrity.

Bay windows typically consist of three glass panels extending beyond the home's exterior walls, with a larger center panel flanked by two smaller ones. In contrast, bow windows are composed of four to six equally sized glass panels that create a gentle curve and do not extend as far from the exterior walls.

Bay windows cost more than standard windows because their expansive, multi-panel design requires additional materials and skilled labor. Their construction involves extra glass, specialized frame components that extend outward, and complex operating mechanisms. These technical demands necessitate precise engineering and multiple expert installations, thereby significantly increasing both material and labor expenses.

Bay windows cost three times more than standard double-hung windows because their design requires extra panels, expanded framing, and a more complex installation process. The advanced construction method increases material consumption and demands comprehensive expertise, while specialized window treatments further elevate expenses. This all results in a significant difference in overall project cost.
