Customers say: True professional

"I wanted to replace my kitchen faucet but there was no need. The repair person was very upfront and honest and that saved me a lot of money. He tightened a leak and put on a water purifier. In Addition, very professional, honest, and on time for the start of work! He more dedicated to his company then most owners. Yes, I would highly recommend DLA Sewer & Drain to homeowners and businesses. Thank you!"

"David was very professional, came out the following day gave me a quote and was able to start the work almost immediately. The work was done with great attention to detail and professionalism. To clean up was excellent and he was very nice to work with and was willing to answer several questions that I had. As well as helping me with something that was not on his scope of work included in the quote. If I ever have any plumbing or gas issues I will absolutely be calling him."

"Very good customer service from both call center and plumber tech that did the work. Jeremy did a good job of explaining what was needed to complete the repair and provided choices on which replacement pump to install. Professional and courteous!"

"They quickly answered the phone and quickly sent someone to my house. That was so appreciated as the repair was for a dryer gas line connector. Jim was courteous and knowledgeable. He explained everything so I could easily understand and recommended only the repair that was necessary. Highly recommended."

"It went well. The team came and rodded the sewer as agreed. However the work I needed was not covered under the deal I purchased. They worked with me though and arranged it so that I only paid the difference in price between the deal and work they did so that I didnt have to vo theough the trouble of doing a refund first."

"I highly recommend Essential Plumbing and Sewer. We were in desperate need of immediate help when the water would not shut off in the bathtub. The immediate situation was to turn off the water supply valve for the entire home. This unfortunately meant that we were unable to use any water or bathroom facilities. Add a small baby into the mix and this escalated into an emergency situation. We found Essential Plumbing and Sewer on Angie’s List and read all the great reviews. They did not exaggerate because from my first phone call to Maria who was amazing. She understood our desperate situation and set up a quick appointment. She sent Fernando who was such a nice guy and so personable and he quickly replaced the cartridge in our bathtub. I can tell you for sure that for any plumbing needs in the future we will definitely use Essential Plumbing. Thank You"

FAQs for sewer main install, replace or repair projects in Big Rock, IL

When installing a sewer line, you should consider extra costs like tree removal, driveway repairs, or patio resurfacing. Hiring a professional plumber is essential, and you may need additional specialists if landscaping or heavy excavation is involved. Addressing these potential extras up front helps ensure accurate budgeting and prevents sudden cost overruns.

To calculate the length of sewer piping you need, measure the distance from your house to the main sewer line, adding the depth of the city main to this distance. Be sure to account for any obstacles like tree roots or utility lines that may require additional piping.

City sewer lines are installed at a lower elevation to prevent unwanted backflow and water damage. This lower positioning ensures enhanced performance and long-term safety, meeting all technical and safety standards.

With trenchless methods, a plumber inserts a smaller pipe within the existing plumbing, avoiding full excavation. It can be more cost-effective and less disruptive than traditional methods, but it's not suitable for all homes.

Yes, you must secure permission from your local water authority before connecting to a public sewer line. This approval ensures your connection meets all regulatory requirements.

Sewer lines are buried between 18 inches and 8 feet deep, with most systems placed between 18 and 30 inches. In colder regions, pipes are set deeper to remain below the frost line.
