"Best contractor I have ever dealt with on a personal home project. Fast, courteous, honest, polite and informative. Kelly and his crew did exactly what they said they were going to do for the price they quoted me. I have a 2700 square foot basement that they completely framed for me. I offered them to my house, but they came and went every time through a basement window. They were always on time and always responded to my calls and texts. I will definitely rehire Kelly and his crew again if needed."

"Found Sentri on Angi. Jeanette and Violet were very pleasant and efficient in getting a contractor to me in the time frame needed. The contractor was excellent and the roof looks great! I would definitely work with them again if I had additional projects."

"I recently hired Wasatch Carpentry and Rails to construct a custom-made wooden staircase with handrails, and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. From start to finish, their professionalism shone through, and the quality of their work was truly extraordinary. They kept me updated every step of the way, ensuring that I was completely satisfied with the progress. Additionally, their prices were not only reasonable but unmatched in comparison to other quotes I received. Without a doubt, I would enthusiastically do business with Wasatch Carpentry and Rails again. Highly recommended!"

"Make sure they see your job and get a firm bid.. I sent them pictures and measurements and they gave me a bid on a project for a neighbor. When they arrived they claimed that they had under bid and I needed to pay them an additional $400. My neighbor wasnâ t happy so I paid $200 out of my own pocket to make the increase easier to handle. They did a great job! Just make sure they visit your project and give you a firm bid."

"Excellent! Couldn't be happier with Clic Homes! We had some issues due to an error made by a third party designer/architect we hired prior to enlisting Clic Homes services. However, with Clic Homes experience and exceptional customer service, they helped us quickly identify a solution. We are very happy with their work, professionalism, and attention to detail. I highly recommend them!"

"Dragon Sonâ s owner Hiram is the man lives by his words, very honest, very patient and very professional about his work. He and his crew built us two level deck above 1000 + square ft. He does things up front and there is no hidden fees nor hidden charges, he goes out of his way to help customers save as much money as he can on materials. He patiently spend time and hard work to alter the work to meet customers need, example: he built 3 stairs for the deck to the yard, perfect fine for regular people, but we prefer lower the steps for older folks or shorter people, he out of his way came back and rebuild entire stairs, his work is sturdy and beautiful, I wish I could share some photos here. His brother does the amazing welding work too, I feel very lucky to find them, they are very talented and hard working young men, from framing; build deck, flooring, painting; remodel the house & bathroom, to welding the incredible metal work, I already have more works for them next year, I definitely hire them again, also recommend them to all, especially my friends!"

FAQs for carpentry framing installation projects in Bingham Canyon, UT

Professional contractors complete basement framing in three to five days, depending on the size and complexity of your space. Projects with simple, open layouts progress faster than those with multiple rooms and corners. DIY framers should expect the job to take significantly longer, potentially seven to 10 days or more, depending on experience level and available time. The timeline doesn't include other aspects of basement finishing like drywall installation, electrical work, or finishing touches, which extend the overall renovation schedule.

Most municipalities require building permits for basement framing projects. These permits cost between $1,200 and $2,000, ensuring your renovation meets local building codes for safety and structural integrity. Working without proper permits can result in penalties, forced removal of completed work, and complications when selling your home. Your local building department can provide specific information about permit requirements, inspection schedules, and any special considerations for basement renovations in your area.

For basement framing, use pressure-treated lumber for bottom plates (the horizontal boards that contact concrete floors) to prevent moisture damage and rot. Standard kiln-dried lumber is suitable for wall studs and top plates that don't directly contact concrete surfaces. The most common lumber dimension for basement wall framing is two-by-four, though some situations may call for two-by-six lumber to accommodate thicker insulation. Always check local building codes, as some jurisdictions have specific requirements for basement framing materials.

You can install drywall after framing is complete and inspected, but several important steps should happen first. Ensure any electrical, plumbing, or HVAC rough-ins are completed and inspected before closing up walls. Installing insulation between studs is highly recommended for temperature control and moisture management. Drywall installation adds an average of $3 to $4 per linear foot to your project, with painting costing an additional $2 to $6 per square foot. Address any moisture concerns before enclosing walls to prevent future damage and mold issues.
