Customers say: Super punctual

"OUTSTANDING!!! Norm came to the house and gave me a very professional and reasonable estimate. I was pleased with it and asked him to please do the work and that we were on a tight timetable. He worked us in within a week! For this area that is awesome! They came in 2 crews. One day was the repair crew. They were great. We almost didn't even know they were there. They did outstanding work and did it quickly and when they were done you couldn't even tell they were in the yard area cutting wood and siding. Their work was excellent. The 2nd day was the finish and painting crew. They were equally great! The look is wonderful and the repairs were top notch! I can't thank Norm and his crew for the great, timely and clean work and especially the wonderful results! Highly Recommend Reilly's Handyman!!!"

"Geo did a fantastic job; not only did he put some screws in the top part of the top siding panel that was slipping, he installed some screws on both of the top siding panels spaced all along the house b/c there weren't any, so this won't happen again even with the other siding piece that was in place. He's very nice and prompt also. I'll definitely call him again!"

Small jobs welcome

"Allen is very reliable, responsible and skilled, completing work from carpentry to painting, in my home. He did an amazing job on a multitude of projects - He installed two wood handrails, hand cut pickets, and put in a wood post. In addition to this, he installed a garage hook, stain painted my outdoor deck, resealed the silicone around the glass of the shower, sealed my garage floor, fixed baseboards and shoe molding, installed bathroom hooks, and replaced the chipped tile in my shower. I highly recommend his services and would definitely hire him again. Lastly, Tabatha does a great job of scheduling."

"The provider called and arrived prior to the scheduled time.  He installed the rods efficiently without leaving any debris on the <br /> floors or marks on the walls.  Then he asked if we wanted him to hang the drapes and curtains on the rods.  This was very much appreciated since it was an unexpected request.  In addition to these tasks, he also completed the installation of a towel rod and he was willing to do other jobs for us before he left. <br />"

"Leon Home Repairs did an excellent job. They repaired the areas damaged by fire then doubled the storage space of our shed with an addition on the back of the original shed, even installing a roll up garage door. We had Hardy Board siding and shingles on the roof. They did excellent work. They were prompt, polite, dependable, thorough, easy to work with. They did the job for the agreed upon cost. They worked hard and put in long days to get the job finished on schedule. We were extremely happy with them and would highly recommend them."

Customers say: Quick response

"We recently purchased our home and have plenty home projects to be done. A privacy yard fence was the first thing we decided to do. Contacted a few contractors. We hired WTF company (Michael) A real pleasure to do business with. Friendly, competent, fair price. The workers who did the install were personable and hard working. We were extremely impressed with the professional, prompt and responsive manner in which Michael handled our home improvement project. The crew was well prepared, very punctual, and did an outstanding job! I am very pleased with all the work that was performed and appreciate the excellent service. We will be scheduling our sunroom project with WTF in a few month. Ace Hunter"

"I will recommend Triangle Home Remodeling (THR) to my friends and neighbors. My laminate floors were installed perfectly and the wood stair treads are beautiful. Really. I know you don&apos;t think of stair treads that way, but THR&apos;s carpenter is a craftsman and they really are beautiful. Nick, the owner of THR is very honest, open, and responsive to feedback. His staff were conscientious and professional. Bottom line is that I plan to use THR again."

"Roberto of Alfoli Construction is the real deal. We had him build a 16x32 deck. Half was screened in with an A frame roof. We did composite decking boards and he also built us a tv wall. His work is 100% quality. I wish I was able to post pictures of his work on here. He was very easy to deal with and knew exactly what he was doing. We enjoyed talking to him as well. All around great work and great guy."

FAQs for carpentry framing installation projects in Raleigh, NC

Both steel and wood can last over 100 years with proper care. However, wood could rot or warp when exposed to moisture, whereas galvanized steel is rotproof, insect-proof, and much more fire-resistant. Steel is friendlier to the environment as it doesn’t require cutting down trees, and the frame can be recycled. The energy-efficiency rating of metal stud framing can be higher than conventional wood construction. Metal studs are easier and quicker to install.

Whether you’re using wood or metal stud framing, follow the “16 on center” rule, meaning you should have a stud every 16 inches. A 20-foot wall spans a total of 320 inches. This works out to 20 spans of 16 inches, plus one starting stud, for a total requirement of 21 studs to frame a 20-foot wall.

Drywall installation costs $1.15 to $2 per square foot on metal stud framing or $2,300 for an average 2,000-square-foot house. The total cost for metal framing and drywall ranges from $20 to $30 per linear foot. Metal frames often seem light, but they can be exceptionally strong once drywall or sheathing is attached.
