"They sent the business guy over to gather information from the quote, everything seemed fine. Except when it got back to the contractor guy, it turned out there wasn't enough to make a quote and that I should "hire an architect" to make plans that they could give a bid on. This was sort of ridiculous, since another contractor was able to give me a quote, use his trivial hand-drawn plans to get a permit, and pass inspection. I feel like if an actual contractor had come to give the quote instead, no time would have been wasted.
I marked professionalism as a C not because the person who came was rude (he was quite polite), but because sending an unprepared employee to make the quote is not professional.
