"Slider door slider wheel assembly replacement for old glass exterior sliding doors. This required specialized parts that I could not locate. Hired these folks and they custom assembled some parts (and installed) that work fine. Was a bit pricey and had to schedule 1.5 months out, but I had very limited alternative options for this kind of project."

"He took the screens that we wanted fix away with him to get it refixed and he said he would call us back. This was on a Thursday and he said he would call us on the following Monday to set up a date. He called and said because he is 50 miles away he could not get to us for another week and that was ok. The following Monday he was here with the screens and installed them which I did not expect him to do. It was great work and I got some other stuff I want him to do in a couple of weeks. He is terrific and I would use him for anything including redoing my entire kitchen. I thought the price was a little high but considering the quality I would not argue."

"I chose this company because they'd done a neighbors' concrete and they were pleased with the experience and the sealant that was used doesn't change the appearance like most do. <br />   When I first contacted them they were booked ahead with big jobs. They could get to me by mid-June, but would fit my job in earlier if possible. They did, several weeks earlier. <br />   They cleaned my driveway, personal walk and patio, public sidewalk, and curb. Special care was given to the highly dirty/mildewed areas. I pointed out some decorative border stones and a repaired area that would be fragile and he took care to not damage those (or anything else).  <br />   They discussed whether the water-based or solvent-based sealant would be better given the age of my concrete (and the tendency to mildew). The solvent-based was used with special attention to those areas prone to mildew. <br />   They kept me well-informed re: what was being done and what I can expect going forward. <br />   I'm LOVING the clean look and also seeing water just bead up on top!! <br />   I didn't give an 'A' re: price, but it may have been competitive re: what I had done and the products/tools used. I hadn't gotten any other prices since I knew I wanted them to do it."

"They came over gave us an estimate, ordered the windows, set up an appointment when they came in. Postponed installation due to rain but rescheduled for the following week. The following week called to say the windows had been dropped and broke that they needed to express order them and they will be in the following week. The windows where put in 4 weeks after estimate was given and they look great. <br />"

"<p>Nice older gentleman. When he contacted me, found out it is best to phone him. Came and did measurements on what windows I wanted done and what type of glass I wanted. I had been looking for someone to do antique glass panes to match the other windows (other companies I contacted didn?t have a source) and he was able to get it for me from a previous job. Was happy I knew the difference in types of window glass! He arrived promptly at the time he said he would, he was very careful and precise on installing the glass panes, he was a little over the time estimate, but it was relatively cold that day so he stopped to warm up. He was very neat and tidy, cleaned the windows and straightened a couple frames that were crooked. </p> <p>While he was here, several of my neighbors made appointments with him to get some of their windows repaired.  :-).</p>"

FAQs for door or window screens install or repair projects in Bloomingdale, MI

Most off-the-shelf screens come in fixed sizes, ranging from 18 inches by 20 inches to 36 inches by 74 inches, which fit the vast majority of residential windows. If your opening falls outside that range or has a unique shape, you’ll need a custom screen built to the exact measurements. Going custom ensures a secure fit, a solid barrier against bugs, and a clean, finished look.

The decision to repair or replace your screen depends on the extent of the damage. Small holes or tears in otherwise solid mesh can be patched, and a sturdy frame usually doesn’t need to go anywhere. However, once the frame is bent or the mesh is brittle and fraying in several spots, replacement becomes a more sensible option—and often proves to be less costly in the long run. Take a close look at both parts before making a decision.

To rescreen a window, start by prying out the old spline, then lift the torn mesh from the frame. Lay the new screen over the frame, allowing about an inch of excess on all sides, and hold it in place while pressing fresh spline into the groove with a roller. Check that the mesh is taut—many pros rest a small brick on it while they work—then trim the overhang with a utility knife.

Most window screens last for 10 to 12 years. Time, sun, and weather gradually make the mesh brittle, so you’ll start to see sagging, rips, or thinning spots that let bugs get through. Check the screens each season; if the mesh crumbles or the frame warps, it’s time to replace them to keep air flowing and pests outside.

Most pros can swap out a screen in 10 minutes to an hour. A quick pop‑in replacement goes fastest, while fitting new mesh into an existing frame or working on a hard‑to‑reach upper window adds time. Either way, plan for at least a few extra minutes per screen so the installer can verify the fit and ensure the spline is seated correctly.
