"In addition to replacing all our windows in the house, we were starting a kitchen and masterbath remodel.  The timing of the window install was crucial to coordinate with the remodel.  We also wanted year end pricing, which was a substantial savings.  We interviewed two companies and chose SGK. We would have interviewed a third company to be thorough, but it was impossible to find another company that did new construction installation that fit our time line.  Rob Rowe (our salesperson) is an up front and "real" person.  Did not come across as a salesman or try to up sell us like the other company's representative.  The price was $8000 less than the other company for comparable windows (Anlin windows) and same type of installation.  

Our goal was to have all the windows installed before our remodel started, but the installation date was delayed due to the rain.  We were in contact with Deanne (not sure her actual title) at SGK many times to coordinate the installation and she spoke with our contractor to make sure the kitchen window was installed at the right time.  In fact, SGK installed the kitchen and bath windows earlier than the other windows to coordinate with the demo.  

This was the only real hiccup we had with the installation.  When the bathroom windows were installed, the edge of the window and sills were cut back too far due to something with the flange (sp?) nails.  This left a large gap between the window and the wood window sill.  A couple of the gaps were filled with caulking and another left with the large gap.  After discussion that this was not acceptable, a total of 3 window sills had to be replaced.  They now look good.  My take on this incident is that there was a lack of communication of why there were gaps when the windows were cut and it was not adequately communicated to us that the sills would be replaced at a later date (when the other windows were installed).  There Quality Control person (Edward) was called in right away and he came by the house multiple times  to ensure the installation was all done to our satisfaction.  The foreman on the job was Francisco.  Another worker named Manny was also very instrumental in making sure I was happy with the outcome.  
   
I was assured that this would not happen moving forward and all the remaining windows were installed without incident. We are having to do some minor paint touch up around most of the windows since caulking is used around the drywall and sills. The windows are beautiful (as much as vinyl can be) and the wood trim that was all replaced looks great.  It is primed and we still need to have it painted.  The old windows had condensation and were drafty.  The new windows have no draft and the house is noticeably warmer.  All our neighbors are commenting on our new windows.

Completely sealed around  the  frame .  Replaced  cedar shakes around the window .
It has an original appearance .

That is more difficult work, as each panel has to be constructed from several planks. Moreover, the clear finish would leave any flaws more visible. Simply put, the doors are beautiful--flawless in both construction and finish. They are similar in quality to custom cherry furniture we own."

"How do you write a review that makes it obvious that this is the contractor to select? I contacted Shaun shortly after closing on our new house because there were several things that needed immediate attention and there were also some things that my wife and I wanted to change prior to moving in. Shaun arrived 10 minutes early to our appointment and listened to what we were looking to have done, plus he offered several ideas of his own to help make our decisions easier. I asked for his quote to be broken down by job since I thought there was a chance we were asking to have more done than we could afford. I received the quote later that day and was pleasantly surprised that I could afford to have everything done. He asked when we would like to start work and I told him the sooner the better since we were waiting for the work to be complete prior to moving into the house. His crew started two days later and after each day they cleaned up any mess that was made. As they were working, my wife and I kept finding other things that we wanted done. I have used Joe, the sole proprietor of A-Z Handyman Services, Inc., for many projects over the past ten years, though I lost contact with him for a couple of those years before I moved into a house in the mid-Peninsula about four years ago. He is easily the most reliable, creative, and efficient handyman I have ever used and can efficiently handle most any project.  I would not use any other handyman for any project, or at least would ask Joe first if he could handle it  I know he has access to assistants to handle projects that require more than one person, as he has done that for me on occasion. 
About a week ago, I used Joe for about nine relatively small, widely-varied projects, described in the box "what did the provide do."  I have described a few of those projects in more detail below to give you a little more perspective about what he did for me.  All projects were done in record time and in a complete manner.
In one project, Joe had to glue together several broken wooden door and frame parts for a locked door my son had to break into to get some clothes (he did not have a key), and it looks as good as new, though still needs to be repainted.   In another project, fixing a heavy side gate so it would close, Joe could have easily chosen the standard and longer method (thus getting more compensation, as he works on an hourly basis) of taking the gate door down to fix the problem (probably requiring a lot of my assistance), but upon a close review he determined he could put in new and longer screws in such a way that they would up hold up the gate so it would close as it should.
In another project, where we had to go down to the local Ace hardware store to get a part normally needed to fix a sliding cabinet door problem, the part was not available, but Joe determined another method that solved the problem by buying a non-standard part. That saved a bunch of time and allowed Joe to fix the problem that day without having to wait for the part to come in a few days later and come back to my hose another day to complete that project.
I would trust Joe on most any project, and certainly would see if he could do them (I know he will give me an honest answer if he can't) and will even start using him as my plumber, as he quickly identified and fixed a toilet plumbing issue that I thought had been previously been fixed correctly by a locally renowned and heavily sought out plumber.  Joe is all about fixing the problem the first time he comes out, sometimes creatively, if need be, to get the job done then and not at a later date, and always efficiently in a complete manner."
