"Danny Rossa has it all together. He came to the house twice, once for rough measurements and a quote and again to get exact measurements. His windows are exactly what he said they would be. I've seen replacement windows that are more fancy and polished looking but these are very adequate and do the job very well. I have noticed a significant difference in comfort this winter. No drafts or air leaks. I'm sure, based on degree days, my heating bills will be lower this year . The two installers were amazing. They did 19 windows in one day including new exterior aluminum trim (which was part of the price). My only advice to the homeowner is to stay out of their way and don't ask too many questions. They have a routine and they don't want you getting in their way or slowing them down. They were here 10 hours and didn't even break for lunch. They did forget to clean a little saw dust out of my driveway but that is a minor issue compared to the value I received. If you decide to go with Finestra Rossa be sure you like the stock windows he sells. A bit of a price upgrade will get you windows that have a more formal appearance. In my case, I was looking for a high efficiency, well operating replacement window at a reasonable price. Finestra Rossa delivered."

"9/16/16 Signed contract to replace a bow window with 3 double-hung windows. 9/26/16 Technician takes inside/outside measurements. 11/9/16 Installers arrive. Job not completed due to defective/missing components. Installer and I reviewed work completed, I signed Zero Defect Form with installer notes, paid balance due, holding back 10% for work not completed. 11/10/16 Call from Rich Cavanaugh, CRM. I am disappointed project not completed. He said I would hear from Service in about 2 weeks. 12/1/2016 I called Service, left message, no call back. 12/2/2016 I called Service. Told me I should get a call next week to schedule. 1/3/17 I called Service and was told everything in. Will call back with date. 1/4/17 Call from Service with date. 1/16/17 Service tech arrives without all components to complete job. After a couple of phone calls and much discussion he goes to local lumber yard and buys what he needs to complete exterior work and installs it. Interior work must be delayed until a window sash is ordered. 1/16/17 I call Rich. I am disgusted. Why was I told all components were in? 1/17/17 Call from Rich. Window sash has been ordered. I will get a call from service when it is in. 1/20/17 Call from Service. Sash will be in on 2/3/17. Completion date set. 2/8/17 service tech arrives to install sash and replace damaged interior molding. All work completed, but just as tech is leaving the glass in the newly-installed window sash cracks. A new sash will need to be ordered. And so the saga continues. My comment is this: The windows are well-made, energy-efficient, and beautiful. The installers and service technicians are professional, skilled craftsmen and do excellent work. Service administration and scheduling is inefficient and unacceptable. Installation of 3 windows should not take three months! On a positive note, the 10% I held back was waived as compensation for my inconvenience. Not holding my breath for the new sash."

"Paul was very professional and was able to meet with us in early morning due to a difficult work schedule. His team was equally professional and worked together well; it was clear that he had had these guys working for him for a while. The new windows look great and they are obviously a lot more energy-efficient as well. I would happily hire PK Windows again."

"Great. Keith was in contact and updated me on the start and they arrived when promised. The crew was terrific and the roof looks great. I was thankful that they took care to replace any rotten wood and install better venting to reduce moisture in the attic. Finally, they left the property cleaner than when they arrived. I was astonished at the care the crew took to clean up before departing. As for pricing, Keith was responsive when I requested an estimate and the price was the more competitive than another vendor."

"Weathertite did an amazing job all the way through. Installation of replacement gutters and downspouts excellent (and clean work as well!). Dave is an excellent sales manager, and he explained the Leaf X product so well. Also, special "shout out" to Joel who us a fabulous administrator. Highest recommendation to this team. Our house now has a nice added value with a permanent gutter solution (no clogs, no warped coverings)."

"We had our bathroom done a couple years ago.The installation was above average. However..when Tony came out to quote the job, he quoted the little shelves for $150 each. The price was too high for our budget, so he immediately halved it. I wanted brushed nickel fixtures, most of them were, The safety bar was plastic. I was told that's what they used. A few months after the install, the bar loosened up. I let him know & he was going to send someone out to fix it. No one ever showed up. This year we wanted to replace the windows in our house. I did call NuF to get a quote. Tony came out, gave us a price for the downstair windows, & we talked about the bathroom. Again he said he'd get it fixed, told me the bar would be replaced cuz it left stains on the wall. I called several times to schedule the windows, & never got a call back. I went with a different company who did the whole house for $1000 more.He did call back, but we signed with Husky. Still waiting to get my bathroom fixed."

FAQs for new windows service projects in Branford, CT

Yes, bay windows add value to a home. They enhance the property by expanding the interior space and flooding rooms with natural light. Their unique three-panel design creates a stunning focal point that elevates curb appeal and modernizes living areas. This architectural detail increases both functional space and visual appeal, directly contributing to higher home resale value.

Yes, all window types have the potential to become part of a bay window configuration when modified correctly. The transformation involves reconfiguring standard windows into a multi-panel design that features a larger central window flanked by smaller ones. This process requires precise professional planning and custom framing to ensure durability, visual balance, and structural integrity.

Bay windows typically consist of three glass panels extending beyond the home's exterior walls, with a larger center panel flanked by two smaller ones. In contrast, bow windows are composed of four to six equally sized glass panels that create a gentle curve and do not extend as far from the exterior walls.

Bay windows cost more than standard windows because their expansive, multi-panel design requires additional materials and skilled labor. Their construction involves extra glass, specialized frame components that extend outward, and complex operating mechanisms. These technical demands necessitate precise engineering and multiple expert installations, thereby significantly increasing both material and labor expenses.

Bay windows cost three times more than standard double-hung windows because their design requires extra panels, expanded framing, and a more complex installation process. The advanced construction method increases material consumption and demands comprehensive expertise, while specialized window treatments further elevate expenses. This all results in a significant difference in overall project cost.
