"Before choosing window king we had several companies come to our home. Pella, power and another smaller company. Then we had Sam from window king come by. Sam was extremely knowledgeable about the product and was patient with answering questions. We were impressed by the fact that he never pressured us to make a commitment. Afterwards I read many reviews and even looked up the okna company but we still weren't sold.. So I spoke with Sam again and he offered a better deal on the windows so we moved forward... Lisa called me to make arrangements.. when the mechanic came to take the measurements I was out and my daughter didnt give the proper instructions so they were wrong.. Again i spoke with Lisa and she had him come by and remeasure I was extremely grateful. After a couple of weeks I was wondering about the windows so I called and to my surprise Sam whom I was so impressed with was extremely rude and disrespectful towards me.. I was so angry I wanted to cancel my order but Lisa spoke with me and was very apologetic. The next day Nick (the owner) called he was apologetic as well. He expressed how important customers are to him snd did everything in his power to correct the situation. During the next couple of days I got several calls from Lisa letting me know when the windows would come and who would install them. The day of install Rafeal, Anthony, and Shorty as they called him came on time, and ready to work. They did an awesome job Anthony worked especially hard.. The windows look amazing... They worked straight through and man it was hot that day.. they also cleaned up after themselves. Honestly had it not been for Lisa I would have gone elsewhere. She saved the day or sale.. Her customer service is amazing and to me seemed genuine.. I also wanted to mention that Nick came over while the windows were being installed and spoke with me again. If your looking fo windows that look great, and are installed professionally and efficient this is the place to go.. Just avoid Sam.. LISA, NICK, AND THE GUYS WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND TO MAKE ME HAPPY. Greatly appreciated Thank you!!"

"9/16/16 Signed contract to replace a bow window with 3 double-hung windows. 9/26/16 Technician takes inside/outside measurements. 11/9/16 Installers arrive. Job not completed due to defective/missing components. Installer and I reviewed work completed, I signed Zero Defect Form with installer notes, paid balance due, holding back 10% for work not completed. 11/10/16 Call from Rich Cavanaugh, CRM. I am disappointed project not completed. He said I would hear from Service in about 2 weeks. 12/1/2016 I called Service, left message, no call back. 12/2/2016 I called Service. Told me I should get a call next week to schedule. 1/3/17 I called Service and was told everything in. Will call back with date. 1/4/17 Call from Service with date. 1/16/17 Service tech arrives without all components to complete job. After a couple of phone calls and much discussion he goes to local lumber yard and buys what he needs to complete exterior work and installs it. Interior work must be delayed until a window sash is ordered. 1/16/17 I call Rich. I am disgusted. Why was I told all components were in? 1/17/17 Call from Rich. Window sash has been ordered. I will get a call from service when it is in. 1/20/17 Call from Service. Sash will be in on 2/3/17. Completion date set. 2/8/17 service tech arrives to install sash and replace damaged interior molding. All work completed, but just as tech is leaving the glass in the newly-installed window sash cracks. A new sash will need to be ordered. And so the saga continues. My comment is this: The windows are well-made, energy-efficient, and beautiful. The installers and service technicians are professional, skilled craftsmen and do excellent work. Service administration and scheduling is inefficient and unacceptable. Installation of 3 windows should not take three months! On a positive note, the 10% I held back was waived as compensation for my inconvenience. Not holding my breath for the new sash."

"The whole experience was great. I asked for a quote, and immediately spoke with John who sent me over some options. Wood, vinyl, and hybrid windows. After speaking with him and discussing my needs, he made some recommendations and came over with some samples. John was honest and actually talked me out of some upgrades that weren't worth it. The team then kept me updated on delivery time frames and scheduling work. Greg would text me to see if I could squeeze in availability if they had an opening (there was a lot of rain days at the time, so things were a bit unpredictable). I very much appreciated all the outreach. Once the windows arrived and the work began, I was amazed on how smooth it went. I was a bit concerned since the windows were old, but they were done with all 9 windows in one day, and they functioned perfectly. We had one window that had a loose latch. John said he requested a whole new replacement, and they kept me up to date on when they were going to come back to swap it. I can't say enough about the communication and follow-up, which not very many contractors do. I will hire Windows Solutions Plus again for my next project (looking at some picture windows next), and suggest you get these guys to give you a quote when you are ready for a window project of your own."

"The time from acceptance of the estimate to the window installation was roughly 3 weeks as was discussed with us.   Paul and his crew showed up on time, put down floor coverings where needed to protect the floors from traffic and cleaned up after themselves when finished.  There was no sign that they did work in the house except for the new windows.  The windows were caulked inside and out and trim added on the outside to blend the windows in with existing frame and siding.  The doors were a week later due to the longer lead time to get the front door.  Paul had no issues with any add-ons we ended up doing and priced them at a reasonable cost.  The work was well organized, complete and performed to our satisfaction.  I will not hesitate to use PK Windows again for work in my home.  Being a Master Carpenter and seeing the results of his work, I have no doubt that Paul could perform any construction job we might hire him for. <br />"

"The installers were professional, polite, and industrious. I was amazed at how quickly the windows and doors were installed, and I loved the color options for the internal window frames. They match our woodwork beautifully. The 90 year old windows they replaced had some interesting pulley hardware that I remarked upon. When the installation was complete, one of the installers brought me a number of the pulleys and asked if I wanted to keep some. It's cool to have some of the history of the windows from this old house."

"Ron, the company president, came out to give me an estimate. He was very upfront and thorough, and I felt comfortable with what he told me. He seemed a little taken aback when I asked for a written contract, but wrote one up on the spot anyway. They called to follow up a week later, and I placed my order, along with the required $500 deposit. On installation day, the installers showed up on time. However, they didn't seem to speak much English, and I had to inform them they were looking at the wrong windows. With that cleared up, they set to work - without much of a break - for about 6 hours, installing the new glass blocks. I was impressed by their work ethic, but when they had questions the language barrier seemed pretty steep. The previous owner had run some wires through the old window sills, wires we had since disconnected. The installers, unfortunately, didn't ask before running them through the mortar. I noticed before the mortar dried, and was able to take the wires out and re-pack the mortar. Overall, they did a nice job, and the windows seem very securely installed."

"It went pretty well. The windows are as clean as they can be. I was disappointed, however, by their messing up one of our screens and not even telling me. (They took it out to clean one window and put it back in upside down in the wrong part of the window and I could not dislodge it.) We had to have the window installers fix it."

"Luis and his team did outstanding work. They were perfectionists when it came to installing the doors and paint work. Henry, the gentleman who came to put in the storm door came in the middle of a Nor-Easter with driving snow and wind to do the job. The rooms came out better than I ever expected and the front and back door really make the house look more up-to-date (It was built in the 1960s. They even cleaned up after they were done, right down to vacuuming the rooms and left them cleaner than they were before. Since I have pets, they were mindful to not leave the front gate open or ask before going into the bedroom to do put the bedroom door/staining it. Thank you Luis for all of the hard work and attention to detail that you and your team put into the project. I would definitely recommend you to anyone who is looking for quality work."

"Extremely well. Roofing Crew arrived at 7:30am as expected. They were meticulous about removing old shingles and expecting the exposed plywood for deterioration. They replaced with new plywood at a reasonable cost. Just observing Steve's crew as they installed the new shingles made me glad I choose a licensed professional roofing company like Flying Colors. They took care of obtaining the permit from the town and coordinated the inspection."

FAQs for new windows service projects in Bridgeport, CT

Yes, bay windows add value to a home. They enhance the property by expanding the interior space and flooding rooms with natural light. Their unique three-panel design creates a stunning focal point that elevates curb appeal and modernizes living areas. This architectural detail increases both functional space and visual appeal, directly contributing to higher home resale value.

Yes, all window types have the potential to become part of a bay window configuration when modified correctly. The transformation involves reconfiguring standard windows into a multi-panel design that features a larger central window flanked by smaller ones. This process requires precise professional planning and custom framing to ensure durability, visual balance, and structural integrity.

Bay windows typically consist of three glass panels extending beyond the home's exterior walls, with a larger center panel flanked by two smaller ones. In contrast, bow windows are composed of four to six equally sized glass panels that create a gentle curve and do not extend as far from the exterior walls.

Bay windows cost more than standard windows because their expansive, multi-panel design requires additional materials and skilled labor. Their construction involves extra glass, specialized frame components that extend outward, and complex operating mechanisms. These technical demands necessitate precise engineering and multiple expert installations, thereby significantly increasing both material and labor expenses.

Bay windows cost three times more than standard double-hung windows because their design requires extra panels, expanded framing, and a more complex installation process. The advanced construction method increases material consumption and demands comprehensive expertise, while specialized window treatments further elevate expenses. This all results in a significant difference in overall project cost.
