"Marsh contracting came in and took our 50+ year old bathroom and made it into a great, functional space. I wish I could explain the awfulness of the "before" situation they were facing. Tile and plaster 3 inches thick; square, heavy bathtub that need to be removed; galvanized steel pipes with years of corrosion blocking water flow. They had great suggestions for improvements and helped us stay within our budget while still taking care of the things that needed to be done. They were prompt and worked quickly; the only hiccup was on our side with a delivery issue, and they were able to work around it and keep the project rolling. Bob and his team were upfront with us on everything, and I felt that I had a clear idea of how the project was moving along, next steps, and the timeline for completion. Communication was never an issue, whether via email, phone, or text. And my super picky Father in Law has even complemented the great tile work!"

"All workers were respectful and polite. They finished work in less time than I thought and cleaned up any mess which I appreciated. Tub and wall look beautiful. They explained how to use it. Customer service was great starting with sales rep and throughout installation. They removed the big whirlpool tub and installed a walk-in tub."

"Purchased a deal but the provider said the deal was on AngiesList in error.  He cooperated in getting AngiesList to provide a refund, and he removed the deal.

"If you are looking for a building contractor for any improvement to your home, you could not do better than Mark Ellis Builders. We found him to be meticulous, conscientious, trustworthy, knowledgeable, observant, good natured, patient, respectful and responsive. Mark listened well to our opinions during every step of the process and provided valuable suggestions and guidance. The exterior of the house looks better than new with the care taken on the paint job. The master bathroom was a bigger job than we had anticipated as it needed to be completely gutted and rebuilt properly. The new bathroom is lovely with its new lighting and exhaust systems, rebuilt shower and Jacuzzi tub areas, and Mark’s exacting tile work that is simply exquisite. His crew cheerfully repainted the vanity area a couple of times until the color scheme was right and we were satisfied. Mark and his men were a pleasure to work with. I would recommend them wholeheartedly for any project. For all of the work that needed to be done, we consider the cost to be reasonable."

FAQs for walk in tub installation and replacement projects in Bridgewater, MI

Because Medicare classifies walk-in tubs as non-durable medical equipment, it generally won’t pick up the tab. Medicaid can help if a doctor certifies that the tub is medically necessary, but rules change by state. Call your plan early, ask which forms you need, and keep any prescriptions or letters on file to improve your odds of reimbursement.

A walk-in bathtub’s fill and drain times hinge on your home’s water pressure and the tub’s hardware. Most models with a fast-fill faucet need about six to eight minutes to fill and two to three minutes to drain; larger basins or standard drains can tack on an extra 10 minutes. Stay seated until the water is completely gone so you don’t swing the door open on a full tub’s worth of water.

A walk-in bathtub holds 50 gallons of water, and its design supports capacities that range from 40 to 80 gallons, depending on the product. In contrast, a standard bathtub holds 25 to 45 gallons. This capacity is determined by the fixed design of the tub and its construction materials. Homeowners should review the detailed product specifications to confirm the exact volume available for use during bath time.

Walk-in tubs are tax-deductible when the purchase qualifies as a necessary medical expense and meets the IRS criteria. Caregivers who install a walk-in tub also qualify for the Dependent Care Tax Credit under specific conditions. Homeowners must verify these requirements with the IRS and consult a tax professional, as state and program guidelines enforce strict documentation standards for such deductions.
