"Let me say up front, Dawson Mechanical did an excellent job spec’ing, installing and testing the new steam boiler they put in my house. There were numerous issues with my old boiler and hot water loop, Dawson Mechanical fixed them all. Period. Everything works right. The system is quiet. The loop heats properly now, and my Nest thermostat is properly powered. The existing steam system in my house had numerous problems. I spent the better part of a year trying to find a steam boiler expert that I could trust to do the job properly. I had done research on my own to understand what the issues probably were, but I wanted someone that could identify all of the issues so that when the job was done, everything would work perfectly. When Dave at Dawson Mechanical came to my house, it quickly became clear that he knew exactly what was going on. He was knowledgeable and organized. He looked at all parts of the steam system before we talked about what needed to be done. Where other guys made suggestions that were incomplete or showed lack of understanding, Dave presented a few alternatives, and clearly articulated the pros and cons of each choice. Dave was also patient with me. I asked a lot of questions to make sure I fully understood the alternatives. The Dawson Mechanical team was very organized. They worked in finished and unfinished space in my basement, and they were meticulous wherever they worked. I couldn’t be happier with the work Dawson Mechanical did at my house. "It was a superb experience. From the visit by Bruce the sales representative to the installation day to the follow-up from Petro, every single person we interacted with was helpful and professional. When Bruce arrived to do the assessment, we spent time going over the heating needs in the house. After a thorough inspection and measurement of the house, we sat down. He showed me a few options, all of which were going to provide good service. I ordered a unit at the end of that meeting. The installation day was just terrific- the entire work crew that showed up were everything I would hope to find: Upbeat, informative, hard-working, focused. The job was finished before end of day as promised. The heater room is now immaculate, with new piping and a new heater. It was like watching a pit crew at a NASCAR race. Everyone had their tasks, they moved carefully but quickly. The materials were all laid out in order, etc. Just a totally professional approach to their work. The crew boss answered any questions I had. The follow-up for a normal inspection of the furnace chimney was scheduled the day after the installation. I’ve gotten calls to insure we are satisfied with the work. Satisfied barely covers it- I am pleased to write this kind of review. "Old R-22 unit not worth charging. Arranged for new system to be installed. I know others that have used Artic Air and have been very happy with their service. We were very pleased with Kyle the service tech who checked our unit and Jessica the sales coordinator who set up our sales appointment. "The line was in the rafters of a high ceiling of the cellar. It led to an outside gas line (for a gas grill hookup) that was capped off at the house. I wanted to replace the valve rather than cap it off. This was a two man job of a plumber, Rob and his assistant. Rob had to get into the window well and work above his head in a very cramped space. This was complicated by having a large porcelain washtub directly under neath it, blocking access. Rob was extremely careful when climbing to get to the valve. They put down a plastic sheet to protect my washer and the sink, and used their ladder to get over to the wall and window well. Rob cut out the valve and put in a new one that is easy to open and close. He had his assistant check the position of the outside outlet as he worked until he adjusted it so the outside outlet was not turned askew. Btw It was raining and his assistant noticed mud on his boots, and asked for a paper towel when we got in the house...he used it to wipe up his footprints from the mud from his shoes as he walked... Rob checked for leaks and found none. They took any of the debris with them, and left everywhere they were spotless. Also, their last job was running longer than anticipated, and they called to let me know even though at least 30 minutes before. It was only about 15 minutes. Well mannered and professional...Could not have been better!
