"We hired Steller Construction and Remodeling LLC to build a deck/Catio in May 2024. Micha (the Owner) was straightforward to work with and reach throughout the process. We are retired and live on a set income. Even though we had some lower estimates from other companies, we felt so confident with Micha's (the owner) ideas that, after looking at other reviews/images of this company, we decided to go with Steller Construction. Micha's team was absolutely amazing !!! Ray, our project's lead employee/carpenter, was very knowledgeable, considerate, and had an unbelievable work ethic! The rest of the team did an awesome job as well. They communicated well throughout the whole job always checking in with us to make sure they were doing what we wanted. They were professional and very polite everyday. At the end of each they completely cleaned up the area. We have worked with one other construction company and a roofing company when we did some remodling on our last home and did not have a good experience with either company. We were very nervous about having to go through another bad experience. We were so pleasantly surprised that Steller Construction turned out to be a great decision! Our deck/catio is beautiful and we love it! If you have any construction/remodeling needs contact Micah at Steller ConstructionI you will not be disappointed!"

"We couldn't have been more pleased. Communication was great by all involved. We were glad we decided to have System Pavers build our patio. My husband and I are DIYers and talked about taking the project on ourselves. We were VERY happy we chose to let them do it for us. They were in and out in record time and the patio looks awesome. Now we can enjoy it all summer long insteaded of taking the whole summer to build its."

"I interviewed and received bids from five of the top Angie's List picks for concrete work in the Portland area. The quote from Ron at All About Concrete & Masonry was in the middle of the prices the various vendors estimated. Our decision to hire All About Concrete & Masonry was heavily influenced by the obvious skill and attention to detail Ron brought when he surveyed our site. As business owners who are not concrete or construction professionals, we needed someone who could evaluate our development goals and then give us informed, experience-based, professional opinions about our options. Ron did just that. Additionally, of the five vendors we spoke with at our site, Ron was the only one whom we felt clearly understood our requirements and would do the job right the first time. Our project was not a typical concrete construction project. We needed concrete floors poured in an existing building over a damaged and unsuitable older foundation. Our project also required the concrete floor be formed with precisely spaced and sized gaps so we could later install flush-to-the-floor steel tracks for a mobile industrial rack system. We also required installation of floor drains with plumbing to route waste water to specific areas. Following this, we required construction of a rebar-reinforced concrete vault of approximately 10'w x 14'l x 8'h dimensions with a commercial steel entry door. Ron came out with a crew and spent a day taking very careful measurements which were then discussed and verified carefully with me. Over the next two weeks, Ron and his crew came daily and poured the floors and then built the vault. In the end, everything was done exactly as well or better than we had hoped. Ron also took the time to educate me on the concrete curing process and discussed maintenance and other items specific to our project (such as where power would go, etc.). Based on discussions we'd had prior to the commencement of work for future phases, Ron took the time to make sure we could easily connect the work he performed with our planned next stages. Ron and his team were very polite and easy to work with. We had zero problems. The highest praise I can give anyone is to hire them again. Our project is ongoing and we are completely confident that Ron will do the next stages just as well as he's done the first. If you are looking for an experienced concrete professional with reasonable prices who does outstanding work, I strongly recommend All About Concrete & Masonry."

"I started this project with a detailed drawing of what I wanted to accomplish. Up to this point the yard had been neglected for many years and was mostly weeds, barkdust, and dirt. I contacted the matches offered by Angie's List, and after discussing my needs and ideas, Fernando demonstrated that he had listened and understood what I was trying to accomplish. His company checked out for licensing and insurance, and had no complaints filed with the state licensing board. He offered a detailed contract for a reasonable cost, which I accepted. I enjoyed working with Fernando and his crew on my landscaping project. They worked hard and diligently without wasting time or resources, came prepared for the work of the day, were very detailed oriented, and took care to make sure the work was done right and well. My questions were answered and they took the time to explain why things were done as they were; I learned much about the whys and hows of what they were doing which showed they knew their craft well. Their knowledge and advise in selecting the best plants for each area was invaluable given my scant knowledge of living green things and their needs, and was greatly appreciated. Their explanation of the care and maintenance for these plants helped me understand how best to save the plants from my woeful ignorance and they're doing well. What I appreciated the most were the suggestions for additions or modifications to the design and materials of my initial design. These changes took my ideas and improved them; in the end the landscaping went from nice to popout outstanding. The yards, front and back, look just gorgeous. Neighbors and passersby have offered complements and made inquiries about Fernando's company. The project was done so well, that I have signed up for ongoing maintenance with the company. Good, solid, hardworking, and honest people for a fair price."

"I did a great deal of background research before selecting Cornerstone. This include BBB, Contractor review board, Angie's List, etc. The work I needed consisted of a stairway down the side of my house leading to a patio in my back yard. My house is built on a hill with a moderately steep slope. Colin was the project manager and his bid was my choice of 4 different vendors. We negotiated a start date and they began on time and on schedule. The crew was punctual each day and put in full days of work until the project was completed. During the course of the build we negotiated a change order that included an increase in the size of the patio and a small retaining wall. The change order was a fair price and competitive with the original bid. I was pleasantly surprised that they were able to put a small landing about 2/3 of the way down the stairwell that helped moderate e steepness of the slope. Overall I'm extremely pleased with the project and would use them in the future."

"<p>I met Marc thru Angie's list last fall.   He has performed many services since, including planting a beautiful new lawn in shady areas where  I thought nothing would grow.</p> <p>Marc's work is always extremely well done; he has a great sense of responsibility and is friendly and easy work with.   I can't say enough good things about him.   The property (1/3 acre)looks great after his visits, and he's free with advice on tasks I want to perform myself.</p> <p><br /></p> <br />"

FAQs for outdoor kitchen building service projects in Brightwood, OR

Building your own pizza oven can be a cost-effective option if you already possess the necessary firebricks or materials and have the skills to complete the project. When you have the required supplies on hand, you save on material costs and labor fees. However, if you need to source every component, a pre-made kit may not deliver the same savings.

Fire bricks are engineered to withstand the high temperatures generated inside a pizza oven, protecting the structure from cracking or spalling. Standard bricks can fail under intense heat, potentially damaging the oven and creating safety risks. By using true fire-rated bricks, homeowners maintain consistent cooking temperatures, preserve the oven’s structural integrity, and reduce the likelihood of costly repairs. The modest increase in material cost is offset by longer service life and safer operation.

An optimal pizza oven installation positions the opening exactly between 36 and 48 inches above the ground to guarantee clear visibility and safe, comfortable access. This height optimizes heat distribution and ergonomic use. In addition, dome height can vary: shorter domes produce the signature soft, charred crust of Neapolitan pies, whereas taller domes are ideal for generating the robust baking environment required for New York–style pizzas.
