Last month, I noticed a lot of water on my side walk and discovered it was coming from underneath the ground--yikes! Within a couple of days of calling Frank, he came out and assessed the problem. Blue poly pipes needed to be replaced with copper pipes from my basement to the water meter. Frank even came up with the idea of moving the water line from one side of the property to the other, which was a straight path to the water meter. Both Frank and his son, Sam, were professional and very pleasant to work with. After the installation, they made everything neat and clean. I would highly recommend them."

My home warranty company in house plumbers had told me my main line sewer line had to be replaced (to deny a home repair a camera diagnostic). Replacing the main sewer line would have cost somewhere between $6,500 - $10,000. Artie and I met and reviewed my options. He recommended I go ahead and complete a camera diagnostic and simultaneously have anything in the line descaled. Their descaling machine has a camera attached to it. This process cost $750, but was far less expensive and time consuming than replacing a main sewer line. The end result, verified by camera, a clean sewer line! "John replaced our sewer line in the fall of 2013. What struck us about John when we first met him was his honesty. He treats his customers like he wants to be treated when someone works on his home. He doesn't overcharge or offer things that aren't needed. There are no hidden costs. He will go out of his way to make sure he helps people, agreeing to do our job in Virginia even though he usually only worked in Maryland at that time (he is licensed in both states). We felt his quote was fair and reasonable and he answered all of our questions in detail. Having a sewer line replaced can be a bit traumatic, just in terms of the destruction it causes in the yard. But John's work was excellent. He used up-to-code materials and when our water line broke in the process, he handled that emergency with grace and did not charge us extra. We thought the guy who did the back hoe work could have made our yard a bit more level when putting the dirt back, but we've had landscaping work done since then, and everything looks good now. That is something you'll want to plan for though in terms of cost. You'll definitely need to put in grass seed or sod, and maybe some creative bushes, flowers, etc. like we did. For our next plumbing job, we will definitely hire John again. He is an all-around great guy, very knowledgeable and we trust him with our home. We've also recommended him to a family member in Olney.

"Glenoak came out to reinstall a toilet that had been leaking .  While there, they noticed a leak from the pressure tank, which needed to be replaced.  They went out for the part w/o charging us for that time or travel.  Unfortunately, the replacement part didn?t work, and ultimately they had to replace the entire toilet.  They fixed a small gas pipe leak near our furnace while there, too.

"I called the phone number listed for Van Sant Plumbing and Heating and the call was answered by BGE Home. It seems that Van Sant is now owned by BGE Home. So this is really a review for BGE Home (Van Sant was not involved - the sale and installation were carried out by BGE Home organizations separate from Van Sant). I discussed my water heater problem with a BGE Home representative on the phone and she assisted me in deciding which of several models of heaters would be the best replacement for our house. The price she quoted was reasonable for both the water heater and the installation and she was able to schedule the installation for about 36 hours later - she also gave me a 3 hour window for the installation crew to arrive so I wouldn't have to be home all day waiting. The two installers called me near the beginning of the 3 hour window and arrived about 30 minutes later - very punctual. They covered the floor to avoid messing up the rug, drained the old heater and removed it, and then brought in the new heater and installed it. After explaining the operation to me they cleaned up and left. All in about 2 hours. They were very professional, knowledgeable and courteous. I was very happy with the entire process. The water heater is working perfectly."
