"The repairman showed up and said that he could replace the ice maker, that there are a lot of these that have problems and need to be replaced, that it is very common. When I asked if he was going to use a better quality unit or replace the problemmatic one with the same exact problemmatic one, he looked at me with a blank stare. He replaced the problem unit with the same exact problemmatic unit.
He charged me $160 for the replacement ice maker. I checked Amazon and they list the price at $85.96, so this company charged DOUBLE:

Having paid a "discounted" rate from Angie's list, I got charged double for the ice maker unit.
When I asked the repairman if this would fix the problem he said maybe. That if this didn't work we could try to replace the water filter and if that didn't work we could try replacing the water line. I said "Sounds like we are just guessing and replacing things randomly". He said no, that there was an error code on the ice maker and once replaced the error code went away.
The ice maker still doesn't work.
