"Mark is a chimney wizard! My chimney looks brand new. He replaced the crown, pretty much had to tear off and rebuild the top few rows of brick, replaced damaged bricks elsewhere, and repointed. His workmanship and pricing can’t be touched! He also took care in making sure the job site was left as it was when he started. I strongly recommend Mark for any of your masonry needs!"

"Skimped on quality of retaining wall, not burying one layer of block in some sections. As a result, There are five gaps in the versilock wall on the bottom. I have reached out to him for 6 months to deal with this issue and have been met with delays and no response. <br /> Was rushed in pouring concrete. Some areas are not to code, i.e., proper depth. Corner of pour cracked two months after completion in December 2014. Contacted him immediately to have it corrected in the spring of 2015. Once again, was met with delays, excuses and the last two months no response. <br /> I wouldn't recommend him to anyone. <br />"

"Highly recommend Anthony. We were in urgent need of masonry work on a 60+ year old home for an estate sale. Work included structural stress cracks, replacing washed out mortar and chimney repair. Other contractors did not return calls but Anthony answered immediately once found on Angieslist.com. Primary reasons I recommend Anthony: - A contractor that answers your call or returns calls in short order. - Demonstrated he is highly reliable with minimal oversight. - Skilled work performed is high quality. Everyone from family, buyer, real estate agents and neighbors were impressed. - Cleaned up work site like he was never there. - Understood how special home was to family members for 60 years and showed genuine care to properly recondition. - Provided a realistic cost estimate of wok to be done and actually completed the work beyond expectations. - Overall, Anthony was highly customer service oriented and performs high quality work, He is an ambitious entrepreneurial person building a quality contracting business in a skilled trade getting harder to find qualified professionals."

"Rail Masonry, Inc. did the repair. They were prompt, courteous, professional and thorough. All issues were addressed and executed correctly. They were able to do the two chimneys in one day and left the premises in pristine condition. We would definitely recommend them to others as they were recommended to us by a fellow neighbor."

"The 3 Rivers Brick Pointing & Cleaning team was professional and did excellent work at my house from beginning to end! The in-person, email, text, and phone calls needed to estimate and set up the work were timely and responsive. Dorin, Jimmy, Gerad, and Lamar did excellent work cleaning and pointing my bricks. They were punctual, orderly, and respectful. I was impressed that they left the work areas so clean considering they were removing old debris and prepping/applying mortar. The cost of the work was a fair amount. We have a plan for them to continue to repair more bricks at my house soon. I highly recommend them! Candice"

"On each chimney, Lee ground out any deteriorated mortar joints, re-pointed them with new mortar, replaced any spalling bricks, coated the concrete tops of the chimney's with CrownSeal chimney coating, and sealed the chimneys above the roof line with waterproof sealant. Lee also installed a chimney cap and ensured that the flashing was properly sealed. The quality of Lee's work was simply outstanding, and I highly recommend him."

FAQs for brick or stone siding: install or completely replace projects in Butler, PA

Brick siding offers numerous advantages, including high durability and resistance to harsh weather conditions, requiring minimal maintenance and lasting for generations. It provides natural insulation, enhancing energy efficiency by regulating indoor temperatures year-round. Brick is fire-resistant, improving home safety, and reduces external noise for a quieter indoor environment. Its timeless aesthetic appeal boosts curb appeal and can increase your home's resale value.

Yes, you can add brick to an existing house. One option is to remove the current siding and install full brick masonry, which involves laying traditional bricks with mortar for a solid brick exterior. Alternatively, you can opt for brick veneer siding, a thinner layer of real or manufactured brick applied over the existing structure. Brick veneer is typically more affordable and easier to install while still providing the aesthetic benefits of brick. Both methods can enhance your home's appearance and value.

Yes, installing brick siding often provides a significant return on investment. With an average ROI of around 77%, and some returns exceeding 80%, brick siding enhances curb appeal, energy efficiency, and longevity, making your home more attractive to potential buyers and potentially increasing resale value.

Brick siding is known for its exceptional longevity, often lasting over 100 years when properly maintained. Regular maintenance, like repointing mortar joints, ensures its durability over time. Brick veneer, while thinner than full brick masonry, is durable and can last up to 50 years or more with proper care. Both options offer long-lasting protection and value for your home.

When choosing brick siding, consider your budget, as costs can vary depending on brick type and installation method. Also, consider your desired aesthetic; different bricks offer various colors, textures, and styles to complement your home's architecture. Installation time and complexity are factors, with options like brick veneer being quicker and less labor-intensive than full brick masonry. Additionally, assess the maintenance requirements and durability to select the best option for your long-term needs.

Alternatives to brick siding include vinyl siding, which is cost-effective and low-maintenance and offers a variety of colors and styles. Wood siding provides a natural, classic look but requires more upkeep to prevent weather damage. Fiber cement siding is durable and can mimic the appearance of wood or masonry without the high maintenance. Each alternative has its own advantages, so consider factors like budget, aesthetics, and maintenance when making your choice.
