"The stormy spring weather caused a couple of delays in our start, and Art was good about communicating what was going on and when we would get going. Once the work commenced, the team worked quickly and completely. They rebuilt our small chimney and put a chimney cap on. We also had them tuck point our brick house and rebuild a decorative architectural detail on the front of the house. Art checked on the team’s work every day and addressed our concerns and questions right away. About a month after the main work was done and the mortar had finished curing, they came back to seal the brick. At that time, my husband showed Art a piece of stone that also needed replacing, and they did it right away, no additional fee. Art and his team were great to work with."

Work was started a few weeks later and everything was communicated before it happened. Any delays were also communicated and promptly taken care of. Work was completed in two days with the third day just involving last minute clean up. The completed job was amazing and couldn't have asked for better."

"Generally well overall. Unfortunately, the weather (early spring) put off the date for the final paving over the outside drain tile. There was also an area along the basement wall for which they didn't install the seepage material (no explanation why). The team broke one basement window, reported to the manager that I had approved replacing ALL the windows with glass block ($200 each for 5 windows). I explained that I had not spoken with them at all, and I'd be willing to replace the ONE broken window. They replaced two. At no extra charge to me. I felt as though it was my responsibility to nag (when will you be able to finish? what's going on with the outdoor work?), when that should be the priority of the business... keeping me informed about what's going on. Finally, when moving appliances, they destroyed my washing machine (cracked a cement part so it couldn't be repaired). I wasn't aware this had occurred until after the fact. I complained but have had no response. Despite the carelessness and unresponsiveness, that basement is dry as a bone. Can't complain on that note. I marked that I would hire again... slightly unsure about that. I'd like to think there's a perfect company out there that would contact me up-front about when work stops or will continue, or when they break something. Otherwise, the foundation work + sump pump install was superb."

"I've worked with many contractors over the years and JJB is the best I've worked with for residential remodeling. That's no small statement. JJB is responsive, communicative, on-time and on-schedule, does not cut corners, always willing to tackle new issues or problems that arise during construction, respectful of neighbors / other tenants, and very fairly priced for the quality of work that they provide. We even had some city permitting issues from prior construction that JJB was able to take on and get cleared up. I can't express how much headache this saved me! On top of being great contractors, Joe and Jeff and their team are also just great people - very personable, easy to communicate with, and a pleasure to be around. They really desire to make their customers happy and to do good work. You won't find any cheap shortcuts or shoddy work with this team. When the time comes for another construction job in the area, they will be my first call. I really can't give much of a higher recommendation than that!"

"Excellent work taking out old cement between large stones on landing and steps and reapplying cement.  They also tuck pointed the whole stairway structure which is quite large.  They did this over three days, were on time and reliable.

Sam is very easy to get a hold of, which can be a problem with other companies in my experience. Sam and his team are very professional, the work is high quality. Sam is up front about every step, sending pictures of the progress. They were able to complete the gutter work and tuckpointing quickly - before the rain started again. I would definitely recommend this company for masonry or siding work."
