"They were excellent.  They haven’t completed the service, but came out and gave us a quote. We got a good estimate from them and we were very satisfied with them.  As far as the work is concerned we will let you know.  The guy came out and looked at it. He is knowledgeable of what he is doing and that is the plus. We also had another quote. They had sent out this other company and they called us back and told it will be $924. I told my husband we need another quote and I will not take their word for it.  I would tell other AL members not to take one name off the list and accept their quote;  at least call two or three members who have names on the list because everybody doesn’t have the same price. The quality was excellent because this gentleman was old and he knew what he was talking about.  I had a new air conditioning person and nobody talked about it. The first guy that we had didn’t even talk to us and went straight to the company; then the company called us back.  We called them yesterday morning and they gave us a time for that day. He was right here on time and they gave us a time between 1 and 3 and he was here at 1:30.  He was very professional."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Camak, GA

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
