"I recently hired Devin to reside my house and replace the front door, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. From start to finish, Devin was professional, reliable, and easy to work with. He clearly takes pride in his work—the attention to detail was evident in every aspect of the project. When replacing the front door, Devin discovered rot beneath the old frame. He took the time to properly address and repair all the issues around the door before installing the new one, and did an excellent job making sure everything was solid and well-sealed. The final result looks great and feels very secure. The new siding also came out fantastic and really improved the look of my home. Devin was flexible throughout the project and accommodating with any changes, making the entire process smooth and stress-free. If you’re looking for a contractor who does quality work and genuinely cares about the finished product, I highly recommend Devin."

"Dan and his crew have been wonderful through 2 major projects. The first was the removal of center wall between our kitchen and the main living space. The work was completed quickly and we love the new open concept. He even did a few extras from the project that were not noted in the original quote and didn't even charge for them! This made it easy for me to hire him back for an addition that we wanted framed in off the back of our house. Dan was not only easy to work with but also very understanding with several circumstances that came about which required us to put off the project over and over on very short notice. He reminded kind and understanding and never skipped a beat. When we finally were ready to get going, he was already set to go and came right over to begin preparing for the addition. His crew worked efficiently, professionally and thoroughly. They were all kind and courteous throughout the project. I will hire him for any future renovation and urge anyone else to do "

"Sentri Homes provided the most professional flooring service I’ve ever had. The LVP installation turned out absolutely beautiful, and I was amazed at how quickly everything was completed without sacrificing quality. The crew was fast, accurate, and extremely detail-oriented from start to finish. Everything was installed cleanly, precisely, and with real craftsmanship. The entire process was smooth, efficient, and far beyond what I expected. I would absolutely recommend Sentri Homes to anyone needing flooring installed."

FAQs for carpentry framing installation projects in Canaan, NH

Both steel and wood can last over 100 years with proper care. However, wood could rot or warp when exposed to moisture, whereas galvanized steel is rotproof, insect-proof, and much more fire-resistant. Steel is friendlier to the environment as it doesn’t require cutting down trees, and the frame can be recycled. The energy-efficiency rating of metal stud framing can be higher than conventional wood construction. Metal studs are easier and quicker to install.

Whether you’re using wood or metal stud framing, follow the “16 on center” rule, meaning you should have a stud every 16 inches. A 20-foot wall spans a total of 320 inches. This works out to 20 spans of 16 inches, plus one starting stud, for a total requirement of 21 studs to frame a 20-foot wall.

Drywall installation costs $1.15 to $2 per square foot on metal stud framing or $2,300 for an average 2,000-square-foot house. The total cost for metal framing and drywall ranges from $20 to $30 per linear foot. Metal frames often seem light, but they can be exceptionally strong once drywall or sheathing is attached.
