"Overall the Crawlspace Crew did some great work for our basement area. The initial phone call was very informative, then they came on-site for a walk-thru and provided an itemized estimate we could understand. We expressed that budget was a concern and only elected to do some of the work, they were supportive of this and we were scheduled in within a week. The work was completed in a timely and thorough manner and we are very satisfied. Shout out to Dillon, for working within our budget, and being flexible on the specifics, I would definitely recommend this company/service to a friend or anyone in need."

"Well, it's fixed. A learning experience ? get many bids and make sure the company wants your business. Pros ? Technicians were polite and respectful of my home while I worked in meetings all day. ? The pooling water issue in the basement was resolved, and the floor is now dry; the work was ultimately completed. ? Initial estimate visit was free, but not thorough ? Senior staff came out later to apologize and review the work. Cons ? Pricing was far higher than industry norms based on later bids. ? Avoidable scope changes and price increases after work began; two other plumbers said the job could have been done as originally quoted. ? Communication issues (delayed quotes, unclear explanations, forgotten site details). ? Work quality/finishing didn?t match the premium price; two professionals asked if we had done the work ourselves. Added pictures because I don't know plumbing, so you decide if you'd want this. ? Extra fees add up: 10% financing fee (Synchrony) and 4% credit card fee."

"I had Drainage Masters come out to patch and seal three cracks in our basement and crawlspace foundation that leaked during heavy rain. The crew was on time, super polite, and shockingly efficient. I appreciated their attention to detail as we reviewed the scope of work, and how they ensured I was satisfied and had my questions answered before they left. I also couldn't believe how little dust they left behind; they covered my jam-packed basement in plastic and were very careful when packing up and vacuuming. Great attention to detail throughout! Can't yet confirm whether they officially stopped the leaking, but I feel confident knowing they'll come back to make it right if trouble persists."

"Great Service from beginning to ending. On a Saturday 1 pm, I had three sinks and a shower drain backing up when I run the disposal on kitchen sink. I called and immediately a person answered and schedule me for the next available time (between 6 and 8 pm) we exchanged information and she gave the service prices and explained that was and overtime price for that late hours services. Knowing that I had opportunity do decide if I want to wait and schedule for another day; but I decide that to pay the overtime price and have my house functioning ASAP. Troy arrived within the time window promised and accessed the problem right away. He got his equipment in and in less then a hour, all my drains were functioning well again. He answered all my questions and pointed out what I could do to minimize future clogs. After he connect the traps back to drain he tested to ensure that nothing was leaking and cleaned the areas where he worked. He was polite, knowledgeable, and professional. I am very please with the service, and in the event I have future drain issues I will definitely call hire them again."

"<p>Our tenant's laundry sink in the basement backed up and overflowed on a Sunday while they using their washing machine.  The kitchen sink is right above that and any water drained from it was also causing even more water to be backed up into the laundry sink.  My husband attempted to snake the drain through a clean-out in the line but was unable to get the snake past a bend in the pipe below the concrete floor.  Sunday night at 7:30pm, I called Victor from West Side Drain after reading their reviews (and other plumber's reviews, some of which said that West Side was ultimately the company that actually was able to clear AND repair the problem, if needed).  He cheerfully answered the phone even though it was a Sunday night, and we scheduled him to come out at 11am the very next day as I did not want my tenants to be inconvenienced more than they already had been.  Victor called just before 10am to say he would be there in a few minutes, as he had finished his previous job (we had already agreed he could come earlier if he finished that one early).  He met my husband and looked over the situation, collected his power snake tool and proceeded to clear the blockage.  He ran water through the drain from the laundry sink as he snaked the line all the way to the main sewer at the street and it is now running freely.  Wonderful!  He was polite, friendly and competent and did not try to upsell us on anything.  We had questions about our plumbing system, and he patiently explained how it all comes together (as best we could all see anyway, as it is under our concrete basement floor).  We are very satisfied with the service West Side Drain provided and with Victor who came out to do the work.  We will use them again for our drain-clearing needs.</p> <br />"

"Clog Busters are outstanding, I've used them on two occasions. The first was replacing sewer lateral line that was made of 'Orangeburg' material. I had 4 proposals and theirs was the most economic and innovative. They used a creative technology that saved me thousands of dollars and was much less invasive than others. I just called them again for a simple blockage. They were very quick to respond and ensured me their previous work was warrantied. They were very thorough, clean and courteous. From Tricia in the office, Matt working on our problem, to Tom the owner their customer service was outstanding...."

FAQs for basement drainage channels installation projects in Carlton, OR

Expect a well-built French drain to last 30 to 40 years. By channeling both surface- and ground-water away from your foundation, the system relieves hydrostatic pressure and helps prevent costly structural damage. Choose a pipe with a quality cloth filter to keep sediment out and extend the drain’s life. A quick annual inspection and routine cleanouts will keep water flowing freely, ensuring the system continues to protect your home for years to come.

Most French drains sit two feet below grade, but depth ultimately depends on the problem you’re solving. For puddling rainwater or snowmelt, a shallow curtain drain at lawn level often does the trick. To handle rising groundwater, pros dig deeper, down to the footing, and run the pipe beneath the basement slab. A drainage contractor will determine the optimal depth for your specific soil conditions and water issues.

A properly installed interior French drain captures water at the slab, channels it to a sump pit, and directs it safely outside, preventing basement floods before they occur. Because the pipe sits just under the floor edge, a plumber can reach it easily for cleaning or repairs. Pairing the drain with a reliable sump pump gives you the best long-term protection.

Hire a contractor who installs drainage systems every day—typically a foundation specialist, drainage contractor, experienced landscaper, or plumber with waterproofing experience. These pros understand slope, soil, and local codes, and they have the equipment to trench safely around utilities. Ask for references and photos of recent jobs to be sure they can design a system that keeps water off your foundation for decades.

Once the drain is in, patch the yard by reseeding bare spots or replacing plants the crew removed. Inside, look for ways to add value—finishing the basement or upgrading interior waterproofing while the space is open often costs less now than later. Schedule a quick annual checkup to flush sediment and confirm the pipe and sump pump are clear. Consistent maintenance ensures the drain functions properly and protects your investment.

Most policies don’t cover the cost of repairing a French drain itself, but they may provide coverage for water damage if the system fails. Coverage varies by insurer, so be sure to read the fine print or contact your agent before any issues arise. If you live in a high-risk flood zone, consider a separate flood policy to close the gap. Knowing your coverage in advance helps you budget for repairs and avoid unexpected costs.
