"We were purchasing a home that had some repairs needed before we could close. We had Devlin come out to do the repairs. Overall the repairs eventually got done, but not without having them come out multiple times to complete it. They were supposed to replace the whole sewer line, but when we went to look after they said they were done, there was still a section that had not been replaced. We called the owner and he had the technician come back out to finish the job. To replace the sewer line, they had to cut a hole in our ceiling. They then left the piece of our ceiling on the floor and never replaced it, even after asking them to replace it. When they replaced the sewer line they drove a truck and trailer through our front and back yard to take away the pieces, which we were not pleased with. Overall the work got done, but we had to get them to come out multiple times to finally complete it, and they did not treat our home with respect. We were disappointed and will not be using them again.

"Rooter and Sons plumping was an incredibly reliable and prompt company to have come out and do the work on our house that needed to be taken care of. Fair pricing and excellent work so we knew what we were getting was quality that we trusted. We also had an emergency on Christmas Eve (frozen pipes) and Rooter and Sons came to the rescue so our Christmas wasn’t ruined! Highly recommend them for anything you’d need done that is planned and unplanned! They have repaired and or replaced: well parts, well pump parts, water tank parts, added a heating element to our pipes that froze after repairing it to ensure it will never happen again, various piping that needed to be replaced and all around anything that was an issue, was no longer an issue or a worry we had to have after they were done with the work!"

The problem ended up being the on/off the single valve The valve was 12 years old and nothing last forever. He was able to identify the problem, had to leave to get the parts but returned within 30 minutes (Lowe's Home Improvement store located within 2 miles of my home), and all repairs were completed within 90 minutes of his arrival. No more leaking.

Needs to be pointed out that I called late Wednesday afternoon and by late Thursday afternoon the problem was repaired. Though not the same day all repairs were done within a days time. I have kept there business card, put the number into my phone, and if another plumbing problem occurs, Same Day Drain Cleaning and Plumbing Repair will be the first call I make!

"I had a sudden kitchen sink clog (resulting in sinks full of dirty, greasy water) on Saturday night and, being new to Durham, didn't know who to call. I was in a bit of a hurry to solve the problem because I have a baby at home, and no dishwasher, and the kitchen sink gets a lot of use (I finished washing the night's dishes in the bathtub, which wasn't very sustainable). Plunging and other DIY clog-clearing methods did nothing. I tried several plumbers I found online, but all said they couldn't by by until Monday at the earliest unless I paid a large emergency premium and they were also vague about the quotes, but generally said it would be approximately $300 (possibly more) to fix. Significantly more if anyone was to come before Monday. By contrast, Mr. Jordan got back to me almost immediately and was at my house in only 40 minutes to help. He quoted me an unofficial estimate over the phone, which turned out to be accurate ($69 for the service call, plus about $259 for the clearing work). It took awhile to sort out, because my clog was a bit mysterious, but Mr. Jordan snaked a full 100 feet of our pipes and ultimately solved the problem. He also replaced my P-trap (sometimes called the U-bend), and only charged $5 for the materials necessary to do that. The other plumbers I spoke to estimated similar rates, but frankly, gave me a bit of condescending attitude over the phone. Mr. Jordan was completely lovely and polite, and didn't mind me watching him work while he explained what was being done (I like to understand as much as I can about the workings of my house). And as I say, he arrived very quickly to do the work, foregoing his own dinner, and staying past 9pm to make sure the problem was solved, (again, on a Saturday night), which was pretty amazing. I recently had another plumber in to estimate on some other non-emergency work we wanted done, but wasn't happy with his lack of communication (the other plumber stopped replying to my emails and phone calls for no apparent reason, and never sent the quote he promised). Now, I plan to have Mr. Jordan do that work instead. Our sink problem wasn't cheap to solve, but I think the rates are reasonable for the market, and the service was excellent."
