"We recently had a radon mitigation system installed. When they ran the pipe for the radon fan out the side of the house they uncovered a pipe with asbestos that had previously been unreachable. I called AAA concerned and they were able to send someone to look at it the same day and completed the work that same week (I realize that might not always be possible). A small, quick job for $250, so I was very grateful they were able to squeeze us in and willing to take on the project. The first company I called was booked until April. I will call AAA first from here on on. They did great work and were all friendly and helpful."

He was out with an appointment, but called back ASAP and asked for all the details, then walked me through what he would do in my situation. Incredibly, even though his livelihood is asbestos mitigation, he recommended I leave it alone (he said since there was so little asbestos, and the insulation tape was in good enough shape, it'd actually be worse to try and remove it). The clean-up was fine, it's the pricing that was concerning.

I was very disappointed in the billing and cost of the services Dry Air Restoration (Shakopee, MN) provided.  The first estimate came back at $1925.00, but once they found out insurance was going to cover the clean up costs, their bill jumped up to $3,686.52 for the exact same services as indicated in their initial estimate.  We were told by this organization, that if insurance was covering the claim, they bill differently than if the bill will be paid for without insurance.

I definitely wouldn't feel comfortable recommending a company that takes advantage of its customers like this.  Regardless if insurance covers the clean-up and repair, the work performed is the same.
