"My main plumber was tied up with a big job and could not come the same day. Another plumber I used in the past didn't answer the phone and called me back around 5 pm. I called several plumbers and this was the best value. They gave me a firm price and were able to do the job the same day. Other plumbers I called gave vague estimates. <br />"

"I called Priority Plumbing and Heating after reading reviews on Angie's List. I have a gas boiler with baseboard heating. The baseboards were starting to make a lot of noise. Mike came in a diagnosed the problem and provided me 2 options, one a lower cost temporary solution or a higher cost permanent solution. I went with the permanent solution and was very pleased with how quickly he completed the job. Price was fair but the service was excellent. I have a hot water heater that will need replacing shortly, and I will be calling Mike back for that."

"The drain leak started on a friday evening, with water pouring into the basement every time we turned on the kitchen faucet. Since it wasn't an emergency the plumber came at 8am the next morning. Finding the break in the pipe took about an hour, and involved making holes in the basement ceiling and also under the sink. He kept the holes small and tidy though, which I appreciated, instead of just ripping everything up. There was dirty water in the basement, and the job was pretty messy. While there he also fixed a leaking pipe, although he had to leave to get supplies for that job. He was very polite and worked quickly and quietly, despite all the distractions going on in the house. He was there for about 5 hours total. I felt the price was fair for plumbing, which is always very expensive."

"Took a while to arrange a mutual date for the service.  His assistant finished the projects and asked my husband to pay with a check when I had already given my coupon.  The check was returned after discussing this with the plumber. <br />"

"My husband phoned Dave on the advice of a friend. Since it wasn't an emergency, we agreed he would come out within two days, after telephoning first. This he did. After performing a check, he gave us appropriate advice, left the site tidy, and was friendly and professional. We will certainly use him again, for our plumbing needs and for yearly service on our boiler. Dave has 35 years of experience, and it shows. <br />"

"It went well. Even though it was a Sunday evening, manning plumbing came by to help. <br /> <br />With a lot of rain recently, the basement sump had been fairly active. The evacuation pipe however was worn and leaking all over the laundry room every time the pump kicked on. <br /> <br />Manning sent a man over who called when he was on his way and showed up in the window time previously set. He not showed me and fixed the two issues (back flow valve and fasteners) but also pointed out a small leak beginning in one of the wash machine lines that I had not noticed. Good outift, have used them before and will again. <br />"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Charlestown, RI

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
