"If you need a great tile installer, Chris is the guy. This is my second project using Chris in the last 9 months. He previously replaced the tile on my front porch with travertine stone and just recently did my kitchen backsplash. Both projects turned out fantastic. He is professional, friendly, does exactly what he says he will and shows up on time. Quality of work is excellent. Cleans up after the job like they were never there. Follows current face mask/Covid protocols while in your home. Will definitely hire him again for my next tile project. I feel like his pricing is very fair based on the nature of the work performed and the end result."

"Gerald was very kind and professional in helping me deal with the severely stained grout at my place. I am glad I took his advice and had my grout painted white to blend in with the porcelain tiles I have. My floors look like new again! A Very Satisfied Customer, Pompano Joe"

"Our technician Curtis Burdines showed up on the scheduled day on time and went straight to work. We had our 3 season porch tile and exterior travertine patio cleaned and seal. Curtis paid attention to details and did an excellent job. We are very pleased with the service we received and would use Sir Grout again in the future."

"Fantastic. The whole process is made simple by the professionalism of Noel in the Sales office, and Donnie in the fabrication facility. The Donnie's many years of experience with stone shows through in the final product. Extremely satisfied from start to finish. These folks care about making sure the customer is beyond pleased at the end of the day. This is our second project with Queen City Kitchens, and if I can find any other places to add stone, I will only go here. Excellent service. Great people. Folks you can trust."

"Several months ago we decided to remove a very old garden tub and replace it with a walk-in shower. We also had a new vanity top and new fixtures along with a new tile floor. I highly recommend Nicholas Tile & Bath. It was an amazingly smooth process Tom and his crew were great to work with. We had no problems from start to finish. Highly recommend for any tile or bath update."

FAQs for tile, stone, marble clean, grout, polish and maintain service projects in Charlotte, NC

Sealing grout delivers excellent value by creating a moisture barrier that prevents water penetration, staining, and deterioration. Unsealed grout becomes a magnet for dirt and moisture, which can lead to discoloration, mold growth, and eventual breakdown of the grout structure. Regular sealing maintenance creates a protective barrier that not only preserves your tile's appearance but also simplifies routine cleaning and extends the overall lifespan of your installation.

When combining professional grout cleaning with sealing services, expect to pay between $3 and $4 per square foot for challenging surfaces like natural stone or heavily soiled areas. This comprehensive approach ensures your grout is thoroughly cleaned before sealer application, maximizing the effectiveness and longevity of the treatment. The cleaning process removes embedded dirt and contaminants that might otherwise become sealed into the grout, providing superior long-term results.

Certain grout formulations, particularly epoxy-based products, come with built-in moisture resistance that eliminates the need for additional sealing. These specialized grouts naturally repel water and resist staining without supplemental treatment.

Additionally, if your existing grout still demonstrates good water-beading properties from previous sealing, immediate reapplication may be unnecessary. Professional contractors evaluate your specific grout type, condition, and location before making recommendations about sealing requirements.

An average DIY grout sealing project for a 160-square-foot area requires about three hours, though this timeline can extend significantly for first-time applicators or challenging spaces. Professional contractors can complete the same area in two to five hours, depending on project complexity and required preparation. The experience gap often shows in application consistency and efficiency, with professionals delivering more uniform coverage in less time than most homeowners can achieve, especially on initial attempts.
