"We had basement water issues with water and some mold and rotting wood that was compounded by Hurricane Sandy that led us to finally do the work.  I was fearful of being taken advantage of.   This company was recommended by a contractor that we use regularly and that we trust (Roger Williams Construction, Jarretsville).
The sales representative was easy to schedule.  He was one of the most experienced men in the company.  He reviewed our property and made a specific plan to handle the problems found.  This is not a cheap proposition, especially for something that is buried in the ground or behind walls, but something we wanted done once and finally. 
The work comes with a lifetime warranty and is transferable to the next home owner.  The business has been around for over 20 years.  The warranty will last as long as the company lasts.
A big plus, but only mentioned in passing, was the company offered a 10% discount to Angie's List members.  I immediately became a member while we were discussing the proposal and immediately saved over $1000!!
One man prepped the basement and sidewalls.  Very capable and friendly.  Took several days.
A 3-4 man crew with a supervisor always on site then did the pipe, drain, and sump pump renovations and bentonite.  Took 3 days with the crew working from about 8:30 -3:30 each day.  Finished on time with as little mess as anticipated.  Project did require jackhammering cement around the basement edge and this did raise up some dust.
Same one man will return to refinish the sheet rock and reinstall cabinets and appliances.
Will probably need to pay to have a cleaning service come in and clean the basement and main floor to get the dust out.  Will need to pay to repaint the repaired drywall.  The carpet that was pulled away for the work does not appear damaged so hopefully it will reinstalled with little problem.

"Wow! After years of water seeping into our basement and 4 floods, I felt really defeated. My husband and I cringed every time it rained even a little. After our last flood, we called Floodbusters. They gave us a reasonable estimate, which was cheaper than the other 2 estimates we got. In fact, there were even a couple of businesses that didn't even call us back. They installed a second sump pump and a trench drain outside of our basement door. I will be honest--The 2 men who installed them did an amazing job, but they left it messy and unfinished and when my husband pointed it out, they insulted my husband. We immediately called the company and spoke to the owner. The owner was astonished and not happy at all. He sent someone out the next day who redid the cement finishing on the inside and outside, and he cleaned up the messy areas. He was EXTREMELY professional and apologetic as were the owners. Two weeks after the installation, Baltimore received torrential downpours and storms for days on end, and it continued for the next 10 days. Our basement was BONE DRY!!!!! We are so grateful to Floodbusters!!! My husband and I can now live normal lives in any weather with the piece of mind that we will never have water issues again!!! "Mr. Yoder started construction in November, approximately three weeks later than planned. This was due to his having been unexpectedly hospitalized with appendicitis. However, in that time he kept us completely informed as to his status and when he expected to start by calling us at least once a week. He also ensured all government paperwork and permits were obtained and this effort was part of the final bill.

The work went very smoothly, with some inevitable, though minor delays due to bad weather (it was November and December, after all). He cleard the foundation area and three-foot-deep holes for the main support posts, which were anchored with cement. He next put up all of the framing, siding, roof, etc. and installed the windows and doors.

Work such as laying the concrete for the floor, intalling gutters and downspouts and electrical work were handled by subcontractors, the price of which also was included in the final bill. Please note, the original asking price was about $19,000, but we requested some additions, such as wall insulation and installing a new sidewalk concurrent with the garage foundation, which added to the price.

The work began on Nov. 16, 2011, and was finished just before Christmas.

We have photographs of the work in progress and the finished garage available to be emailed to anyone interested in seeing Mr. Yoder's work."

"They sealed the foundation of house where a crack had formed. They did a nice job and the seal seems to be holding up nicely, as we have not seen any water since the work was done. My only complaint is the technique they use to get you to sign the contract on the spot. I hate being pressured and they use an old sales technique where they offer a discount for signing the contract saying they have another job in the area to do. They then call the boss in front of you to "get the deal" and make it seem like you need to say yes on the spot to secure your crew for the job to get done quickly. I find that when companies use these high pressure sales tactics it is usually a red flag for a scam. I don't think that is the case here, it is just a tried and true method that works for them They really pressure you to sign immediately. I must admit that I was prepared for it, told them I wouldn't sign right away, and they still got me! Made me very angry, but in hindsight they gave me the best deal, did the job right with a lifetime transferable guarantee, so no harm in the end. I really hate that feeling of being manipulated like you are buying a used car. I interviewed two other firms and they were worse about this and wanted to do much bigger jobs with a much higher price tag! This is definitely an area where the scammers are out in force, and you will be subjected to high pressure sales tactics to get you to sign a contract and give a deposit before the salesman leaves. Be warned!
