"This entire team was a pleasure to work with on my window replacements. The windows are a very good quality, the two gentleman who installed them were so wonderful. They were quick but did excellent work and cleaned up after themselves. Windows are not cheap, but Zen was by far the most reasonably priced option for a quality product that I found. At no point during the process did I feel pressured or rushed to make decisions but when I was ready everything moved very smoothly. Highly recommend this company if you need replacement windows or doors."

"We used this company for the first time this week. They arrived on time (early actually), cleaned all of our windows inside and outside quickly and efficiently, and left no mess. What a relief to have someone take over that back-breaking job at such an affordable price. We will definitely use them again."

"Both the sales and service were excellent! Pete was a highly professional salesman--while I didn't bite on his first estimate, he did respond to my counteroffer and made it work. I appreciated his friendliness, punctuality, and expertise. He treated me respectfully and demonstrated his product well. I had consulted several companies, and he was one of the main reasons I chose Windows Direct. On install day, Chris and his two-man team arrived promptly at 8AM and got to work right away. If they took breaks, I did not notice, as they moved efficiently and quickly through the job, finishing by 4PM. Despite the quick pace, they did not cut corners or provide shoddy work. Moreover, they worked cleanly, sweeping up and taking care with my walls and floors. While there were a few minor nicks and scrapes, I don't know how you could do that level of work without expecting to do a bit of touch-up at the end. Chris offered to do that work as well, but I gladly took care of it myself, as they had already exceeded my expectations. The caulking was done beautifully, both inside and out. Overall, I had a very positive experience with the company and its staff. A last minute call on the Tuesday before installation asking if I could have the install done the next day or Thursday instead of Friday because one of the crew could not work on Friday rattled me a bit, but ultimately did not take away from the the overwhelming number of positives in working with this company."

"I was so glad to find this company. Response was prompt, friendly, professional, and helpful. The entire transaction from beginning to end went smoothly, without a hitch. Scott helped us select new shades that matched the others we had, and Mike installed them. Everything was done promptly, professionally, and well. And the price was right! I highly recommend this company!"

"<p> Based on recommendations from another Angie's list contractor that we used I called Pickens Window Service in May 2014.  Based on the initial contact with Pickens we decided on a couple of projects updating the old screen doors to our house that came with the French Doors to the patio.  The doors are about 30 years old and are in good shape but the screen doors were a mess. </p> <p>We had taken off the old frames to the screen doors and put them in storage for years.  During that time we tried some adjustable screen doors from Home Depot but they never fit right and always came off the tracks no matter how many times we adjusted them.   One day Ron Sauder ( Another Angie's List Contractor ) was installing some locks and while discussing other issues we talked about the problem with the screens.  When telling Ron about the original frames he recommended getting the original doors rescreened and repaired at Pickens.  That is where it all started.  After contacting Pickens we sanded the old aluminum frames down, primed them a couple of times and put three coats of white enamel on them.  After they dried we took them to Pickens and they did a great job of rescreening, fixing any rollers that needed repair, and replacing a missing handle on one of the doors.  They also recommended some weather/bug strips to seal the gaps on the doors.  They also recommended what screen material to use for the location and usage of the door.  There were several to choose from and considering the high traffic area of the location we went with their recommendation and it has held up well.  Nine months later and the screen doors look brand new even though they are over 30 years old.  Using the original frames gave us the perfect fit screen doors that now work like they did when the doors were installed.  </p> <p>After such a successful project with those two doors we then called Pickens back for another doorway where the original screen door was lost.  They came out and measured the door area and built another sliding screen door to specifications They </p> also did a good job with the color match.  That screen door also works great.   We did both of these projects last year with Pickens Window service and could not be more pleased with the outcome. <br />"

"Apollo Draperies came multiple times to our condo in order to complete the entire job. They measured 5 windows (three of them were bump-outs), we picked the shade material we wanted to use, we added a valance for four of the windows. Apollo manufactured the shades and valances and then came back to install everything. They also came back to tweak the automatic function of the shades. We are happy with the results and the personalize attention and trust they showed us. We will use them again."

FAQs for new windows service projects in Cincinnati, OH

Yes, bay windows add value to a home. They enhance the property by expanding the interior space and flooding rooms with natural light. Their unique three-panel design creates a stunning focal point that elevates curb appeal and modernizes living areas. This architectural detail increases both functional space and visual appeal, directly contributing to higher home resale value.

Yes, all window types have the potential to become part of a bay window configuration when modified correctly. The transformation involves reconfiguring standard windows into a multi-panel design that features a larger central window flanked by smaller ones. This process requires precise professional planning and custom framing to ensure durability, visual balance, and structural integrity.

Bay windows typically consist of three glass panels extending beyond the home's exterior walls, with a larger center panel flanked by two smaller ones. In contrast, bow windows are composed of four to six equally sized glass panels that create a gentle curve and do not extend as far from the exterior walls.

Bay windows cost more than standard windows because their expansive, multi-panel design requires additional materials and skilled labor. Their construction involves extra glass, specialized frame components that extend outward, and complex operating mechanisms. These technical demands necessitate precise engineering and multiple expert installations, thereby significantly increasing both material and labor expenses.

Bay windows cost three times more than standard double-hung windows because their design requires extra panels, expanded framing, and a more complex installation process. The advanced construction method increases material consumption and demands comprehensive expertise, while specialized window treatments further elevate expenses. This all results in a significant difference in overall project cost.
