Small jobs welcome

"Josh did an excellent job of fixing some wiring problems we had. I was contacted quickly and the repair work was completed the next day. I am very satisfied with Meyer Electric and would highly recommend them for electrical work that needs to be done. Also, I found their repair costs to be very reasonable. I will definitely contact them for future electrical work."

"High End Professional Service Which one cannot put a Price on! Difficult to find in 2015, many elections set in there ways Don't want to make a Changes or listen to what is Needed. Make Amplified Electric your 1st CALL. Kyle was exceptionally flexible for an initial consultation & Estimate which I hired Him on the Spot. He was willing to speak with a Home Warranty Company so in all I only had a few Hundred dollars out of Pocket to cover a few upgrades to a several thousands in repairs. I'll be refering him Co-Workers Friends & Family always. That is the Biggest Compliment one can give"

"Tom thoroughly listened to the problem description before launching in to the task. He called to gather more detail and questioned/pushed back on the product distributor to identify the root cause of the problem. Definitely went the extra mile to resolve our issue which wound up being a problem with the original set up. Tom is brilliant and would recommend him to anyone."

"After checking around with other auto glass repair vendors I found Glass Installers Plus on Angie's List and asked for an estimate to replace a cracked outside mirror on my van.  Gregg's estimate was way below what other vendor's quoted, if fact I wondered if we were talking about the same item.  I decided to go ahead and order the mirror from him and see how it goes.  It wasn't a big job so I didn't expect much attention.  Gregg got in touch with me once the mirror arrived and made an appointment to drop by my home to install it since he was in the area.  I live in the south side of the Twin Cities, a considerable distance from his business up north so I was impressed by his willingness to come by.  On the appointment date he came early morning and was done with the whole job before I could get out to greet him.  The cost was exactly what he had quoted before and I was delighted with his prompt, efficient service.  He's a fun fellow to talk with and we got to talking about his business and such and I mentioned that I also had a chip in my van's windshield but didn't want to go to the trouble of filing a claim with my insurance company.  He took a look at it and explained why some chips are more serious than others, leading to cracked windshields.  The chip I knew of wasn't of the serious kind but he did see one I hadn't noticed up high behind the visor mirror that already had a crack in it.  I asked if he would consider fixing it since he was there.  He said he had another job to go to but still took the time repair the chip before leaving.  Again, his price was below anything I had heard from other glass repair outfits and his service was excellent.
Apparently he handles all manner of window glass installation and repairs and has been doing so for over 30 years.  I would gladly hire him again for glass service and recommend him to anyone else in need.  It is obvious why he has high ratings on Angie's List.
Thanks again, Gregg.

"Halle Electric was called to my garage which was experiencing outdoor lighting problems. The garage is a large separate building with an outdoor lighting problem. My flood lights first started to flicker unexpectedly. Then when I turned them on they would refuse to turn on or then sometimes they would turn on by themselves. They would also sometimes flip breakers, not just one circuit but two separate circuits. This was beyond my capability to even understand what was causing these strange electrical behaviors. I called Halle Electric and Kory, the owner, came out himself. He spent a couple of hours and was able to repair the problem - a real miracle! I found Kory Halle to be personable and very professional. His fee was also very reasonable. I highly recommend Halle Electric."

"This company has treated me well, especially Mike Museus, who worked over a year (last summer and this spring) to find out why there was a fluid leak in my new AC unit. The leak didn't affect the cooling of my home so I wasn't concerned, but Mike was persistent, even to returning finally with an "expert" to help diagnose the problem. What they found was that the A-coil above the furnace was full of tiny pinholes. On the day this was to be replaced, Steve came before 9 a.m. to remove the defective A-Coil and install the new one. He worked on it all day, without lunch or a break, leaving shortly after 5 p.m. There was no charge, as it was still under warranty. With all that, he still took the time to explain to me why the replacement was so important: that the defective A-Coil could eventually leak enough to damage the furnace below it. Because he was using solder, I believe, to install the new part, he turned on the ceiling fan in the adjacent room to mitigate the fumes. My only complaint is that a few of my vinyl floor tiles were damaged/discolored by the soldering process. That part of the flooring has had water damage before and is missing a few tiles so, after a day of hard work, he may have attributed the damage to work done before. It's not a big deal; I just wish he'd have said something. I have to hand it to Steve, though; he was working by himself, which frequently required him to leave the furnace area to check the outdoor AC unit, then rush back to the indoor work. I think it might have been a two-person job. At least, an assistant could have facilitated some of the work done."

FAQs for electrical switches, outlets & fixtures install or repair projects in Cold Spring, MN

To select and hire an electrician for your light switch installation, start by evaluating candidates as you would for any skilled position. Ask detailed questions, request a written quote, and verify their licensing credentials. This careful screening prevents unexpected fees and ensures every aspect of the installation, including any drywall repairs, complies with code.

A light switch can malfunction due to compromised wiring or overheating conditions. Faulty connections and excess heat diminish the switch’s performance. If you hear crackling, popping, or hissing sounds when toggling the switch, this indicates active electrical faults that pose a safety hazard and demand immediate professional inspection. Prompt attention prevents further damage and ensures reliable operation.

Installing a light switch takes 30 minutes or less, on average. The installation time depends on the switch type, with dimmer switches requiring additional time compared to standard on-off switches. While the hardware replacement might be completed in 15 minutes, it's essential to adhere to safety protocols, like turning off the circuit breaker and verifying there's no power, for a safe and code-compliant installation.
