"Jakob W., Austin H., and Nathan H. Demonstrate some great team work getting the foundation work done clean and efficient. Fantastic communication before, during, while closing up the details of the project. Each where professional, polite, and positive attitude. Except for the missing steps at the patio door we can hardly notice they had the foundation dug up the day before."

"Ayers was great to work with! Before even coming to the house, they sent a booklet regarding their systems so that we could do our own research. When Donny arrived, he inspected our basement and made several recommendations, taking the time to explain why he suggested each option over others. When the crew arrived for installation, PJ took the same time and care explaining their process and answering our questions."

"From start to finish I could not be happier. I had an idea (a rough idea) of what I wanted to do. Dan sat with me (listened with patience) and helped me work through the details of my project, he talked to me about what was important and what was not... after he helped me design the building and details that went along with it. Along the way he worked with me to make adjustments to the design, as well as offered ideas and solutions to reduce my cost (he saved me about 15%). There were things I didn't think about when I put my plans in place, Dan communicated with me along the way allowing me to think through the changes as well as the pros/cons of doing so. There were changes we made along the way that make a lot of sense now that the building is complete. Amazing work!!!
To find a builder who can complete the work start to finish, stay true to his commitments, and more importantly listen to you is not easy to find. Dan fits this mold.
I have worked with at least 10 builders in the last 20 years... this is the first review I have written. The reason I am writing this review is Dan did an awesome job! From start to finish communication was great, the work was awesome, and the price was right. With 100% confidence I would recommend Dan and Patriot Builders to take on a small project to building a high end 6,000 sq foot home. I am attaching my personal cell phone if you would like to personally talk to me - Frank (913) 461-7217 I will be more then happy to show you the work he did.
Dan, thank you! Its nice to work with folks who get stuff done!
"

"I contracted Marc Todd himself and set up appointment for him to come over to measure and view the proposed project to provide me with an estimate. It was a little confusing at first, as he has a brother doing business as Jeff Todd Concrete.
Marc Todd was very prompt, and came out the very next day after I made contact. I was very comfortable with him right from the first meeting. He was very kind, professional and just plain and simple, A VERY NICE MAN !! He listened well to what I wanted to achieve as far as an end result which also included troubleshooting an ongoing water problem. This water problem had not been solved by our last concrete contractor. Marc was very much more knowledgeable, and seemed to effortlessly troubleshoot and ultimately FIX the water problem.
I asked him for references of prior jobs, and he gladly took me right to the places of other concrete pours that he had done. I was extremely impressed with not only the amount of concrete work he had poured in my area and the excellent looking work he had preformed, but was most impressed with how well liked he was by his previous customers. All of them greeted him like he was a longtime friend or family member. I knew when you have that kind of rapport with people you can't go wrong. And I was right as I am now one of his satisfied customers that truly look forward to running into him and getting a chance to visit.
I had four estimates done all together, and his was not the cheapest , but it was no the most expensive either. His price was within reason when compared to the others. I feel that I actually got a much better job than I would have going with someone else for sure. You get what you pay for and in this case I feel like I got a bit more.
He did an excellent job on my project and more. It is gorgeous. He actually came up with a few better design solutions than I originally had planned. AND NO MORE WATER PROBLEM. He stayed within in his original estimate, even though he made a upgraded change that would be better for my situation. He completed the work on time as well and worked hard at "fitting me into his schedule" as I had a party planned that I needed it completed by. He was TERRIFIC to work with. The best contractor I have EVER done business with actually. By the time he finished his job our whole family just loved him !! A GREAT PERSON that really cares !!
I will be using him again next summer for another project we are now planning. I have recommended him since to some friends of mine, and they are just as pleased with their whole experience and with MARC TODD CONCRETE AND MARC TODD AS WELL. I recommend him 100% and I am a very "fussy" customer to please.
"

"We bought a lakehouse that had been vacant for many years. All that was salvagable was the concrete block walls and slab floor. After gutting the inside we called for estimates for roofing repairs.Dennis came out and after talking to him we decided his company was the one to do several projects on the list.We divided the work into phases that would allow me to do some of the work myself. They were agreeable with this and the work started on our first phase of sealing the outside before cold weather. This included major repairs and replacement of the roof, new windows and doors, blocking off and adding new spaces for doors and windows that were being moved in concrete block walls, adding a textured concrete seal on outside walls, new stamped sidewalk and patio with built in firepit, and new sptic system.Dennis also helped find and supervise electrician and well work. When we decided on a patio near the water he came up with a plan for a natural rock seawall to keep shore erosion from future damage to the patio. They are great to work with accepting our ideas and adding many of thier own. They are very professional and I am definately calling them back when it's time for the next phases of my project.
"

"Expert House Movers brought a crew of 6-8 & came in late August 2013 to start the process of raising & moving the house. My husband had done all the prep work of disconnecting the utilities & removing the furnace, etc. They dug access ramps to the old foundation/basement with bobcats. They poked good sized holes around the foundation so they could put in steel beams and jack up the house. Our foundation was from 1917 & built from old creek gravel cement, so it was pretty tough. It took three & half days to jack the house & move it over the driveway. It seemed really fast to me. The only thing to fall in the house was a picture off the piano. We still had access to the house through a tall ladder to get clothes, etc. that we needed.
We took over the process of arranging excavation, concrete pouring, and carpenters with more local contractors. Expert does have concrete people & others they use in the St Louis area that know exactly the requirements needed for the new foundation.
After the basement was poured & cured (curing takes about 3-4 weeks), Expert returned in October 2013 to move & set the house. They had been in contact with the concrete man for specifications, but there were no slots for the beams when setting the house down. A concrete worker had to come & cut those slots. We had a carpenter on hand to finish the sill installment & make sure the sills for the permanent beams was correct & set the support posts in the basement. We also had a friend's tractor help Expert's bobcat pull the house back over the foundation. While all this was going on, Expert was jacking and moving supports & placing slider beams & raising & lowering the house. The process was complete in about 2 1/2 days with care & precision. Some of the cracks in our house even disappeared. Great job guys.
Our carpenters returned to build a staircase & some other requirements. We are working on re-connecting utilities & returning the furnace, water heater, etc. to the new basement. We plan to move back into the house in the first week or so in November 2013. It's been a long process, but well worth it. Made possible by Expert House Movers!
"

"A young contractor who understands old homes? Yes please!
Working with Jay and Jenn of Pro-Tech was great. They were very helpful in guiding us through a process which in hindsight was a bit aggressive for two new homeowners. To give you some context, we close on Valentine's Day which was on a Tuesday. We had movers hauling our stuff on that Friday. The very next Saturday, I was busting up our existing kitchen helping the Pro-Tech guys with some of the demolition work.
What started the work was our home inspector recommended we upgrade the copper water piping. When Jay told us what we had to do to get that done, I asked him if it were possible to leave certain walls "open". He asked, "Are you talking kitchen remodel?" And so it began.
We were on a budget. Jay helped us develop a plan to revitalize our kitchen without needing to rely on ramen and sardines as diet staples.
Many times, it was just Jay working on our kitchen, but for the major updates he brought his crew and they were respectful and skilled. Never once did we worry about who was working on our home.
Anyway, we appreciated their work so much, we're having them back on an emergency restoration project, which is their specialty.
"

FAQs for concrete injection leveling mudjacking projects in Coldwater, MI

Mudjacking and foam jacking differ significantly in both materials and methods. Mudjacking uses a cement-based slurry to fill voids beneath a slab, while foam jacking uses expanding polyurethane foam delivered under high pressure to achieve superior structural support. This material distinction enhances load-bearing strength and overall stability in your repair.

Mudjacking takes between one and three days to dry completely. During this time, it's important to avoid putting weight on the slab until it's fully cured. The drying time depends on the project size and environmental conditions. In contrast, polyurethane foam used in foam jacking can cure in as little as one hour.

No, mudjacking is not a permanent fix for sinking concrete. While it effectively lifts the slab and can last five to 10 years, it doesn't address underlying soil issues that may cause future sinking. For a more permanent solution, you might consider foam jacking or complete slab replacement, which can address deeper structural problems.
