"Frontpoint great in selling me my new security monitoring system and they gave me a great discount. I needed to install this system myself and they were also very helpful in helping me when I was making mistakes during installation (guess what? it seems that the numbering of the sensors does matter!). But it is the billing where they are falling short. First of all, you need to keep a credit card on file with them - let's hope that they do a good job at protecting my information. Second, when I added my bank account info so that they could just debit my checking account for my monthly service charge ($44.99), they completely botched that up. They called me to tell me that my credit union denied the payment but when I called my credit union, they told me that no attempt to debit my account had been made. Ultimately Frontpoint charged my credit card for the April payment (which is actually unacceptable to me). My credit union advised that I was better off using their web bill pay system but it seems that I am unable to do that. My only choice with Frontpoint is to give them my credit card and bank account info so that they can charge my account each month - there is no way for me to send the money myself. Last thing - I was not actually able to talk to someone from Billing - only was able to talk to a "customer service rep" who could not explain what really happened. Let's hope that the May payment goes better..."

"I have had that service for 3 or 4 months. There were several robberies in this area and that is why I got it. They are competitive. It was one of those deals where I got it for free and then I pay for the monthly service. It is a two or three year contract. They call the police if someone sets off one of the sensors. If I do not get to the alarm in time, they will call me. I have had a couple of times where my grandson set the alarm and I went into the garage and did not hear it go off and the next thing that I knew the police were there. There is a $25 fine for those. It has nothing to do with the alarm company. If the city gets called out 3 times, the first time is $25, second time is $45, the third time is an additional $45, and they evaluate the system. That has not happened yet. I have been happy with them. It runs strictly by cell phone. They are right on it when that alarm goes off. They sent it to me and it had all of the parts and then I installed it and it is fairly simple to do.

"Did a good job installing.  System works.  Needs to be adjusted for cats (had police at the house when I was an hour and a half away based on motion detectors being set off by cats even though they were supposedly set up to take that into account.  However....they advertise that you'll get a $100 Visa card to offset installation charges.  They don't send you the link until significantly after the install (nearly 30 days).  Then when you download it you have to mail it to a third party who requires you to send the copy of your contract and submit it within 30 days of install (I downloaded it when it was received but by the time I got ready to mail it that weekend the timeframe was expired and the offer required that you send in the application for the Visa Card with a $4.95 "processing fee" that had to be a money order and said if they received it more than 30 days after install they would just not respond without any further notice.  So the VISA card thing is a total scam."
