"Our home is 75 years old. We needed to replace the original, drafty windows. We did quite a bit of research before choosing True Tradittions. We were very impressed with their pricing and were blown away by their customer service & professionalism. From the sales process to the actual installation, everything was wonderful. I was very impressed with their attention to detail. And they even left my home cleaner than they found it after completing their work. There is simply not room enough to say all the wonderful things I'd like to share. I highly recommend this team! <br />"

"Smooth as silk. Very professional. They were extremely careful not to damage woodwork that would be a pain to replace. Amazing how good these people are. We could not be happier with the windows they recommended and the installation they provided. We strongly recommend getting the installer first and then deciding on the windows. If you don't have a good installer, it doesn't matter how good (or expensive) the windows are. Do the job in the winter. No bugs. They take out one window at a time and replace it before moving on the the next one. This job took 2 days - with the owner and his long-term employee working hard. Two other companies said they could do it in 1 day. Either they were intentionally misinforming us - or - they were going to do a slap-dab job using several insufficiently trained laborers. They even noticed a loose flashing at the peak and repaired it without additional cost. These men are very, very good!"

"I called Mr. Ammons to determine if he could install a new mail box for me.  During our conversation, I asked  for his advice on what I needed to look for when choosing a new mail box as I had never purchased one before and wanted to ensure that I got something sturdy.  He provided sound advice and the box I chose will last for a long time.   We decided on an installation date based on Mr. Ammons' and my schedules, as well as the weather.  Mr. Ammons suggested that it was better to install the mail box when the ground was not soaking wet.  It was a pleasure to watch a professional who knows what he's doing at work.  Mr. Ammons dug out the old mailbox,  quickly put the mailbox post and the mailbox support together, situated the post, mixed the concrete to secure the post, and filled in the ground around the hole.  He explained that the concrete did not need to set for a long time before the dirt was put back.  Mr. Ammons also leveled the post before the concrete was put in, again after the concrete had set for a bit and then again after the dirt was put back around the post - all to make sure the post would be level.  He made sure the ground around the new mailbox was as close to what it looked like originally as he could.  He also took away my old mail box.   I was impressed with the attention and care  Mr. Ammons gave to my small job -this was no slap-dash installation.  Mr. Ammons did an excellent job and I will be calling him again for additional projects.   <br /> <br /> <br />"

"What a great experience! The thought of getting new windows throughout our house sounded like such a miserable task. Joe and his team made it painless! The crew was professional, thorough and did a great job cleaning up. We couldn't even tell they were there! The quality of the windows is top of the line and we absolutely love the finished product. Would highly recommend!"

"My first review indicates the difficulty I had getting in touch with them or rather having them return my call. Well that remains a concern, once they did call they could not of been nicer and the service was fantastic. I would use them again in fact I am going to use him again and I would also recommend them."

"Daniel showed up on time for estimate and to do the work. His workers were very efficient and took great care to leave everything clean. Had one window pane that had the inside pieces cocked to one side slightly. Daniel took the serial number and had a replacement ordered and he delivered it quite promptly."

FAQs for new windows service projects in Colfax, NC

Yes, bay windows add value to a home. They enhance the property by expanding the interior space and flooding rooms with natural light. Their unique three-panel design creates a stunning focal point that elevates curb appeal and modernizes living areas. This architectural detail increases both functional space and visual appeal, directly contributing to higher home resale value.

Yes, all window types have the potential to become part of a bay window configuration when modified correctly. The transformation involves reconfiguring standard windows into a multi-panel design that features a larger central window flanked by smaller ones. This process requires precise professional planning and custom framing to ensure durability, visual balance, and structural integrity.

Bay windows typically consist of three glass panels extending beyond the home's exterior walls, with a larger center panel flanked by two smaller ones. In contrast, bow windows are composed of four to six equally sized glass panels that create a gentle curve and do not extend as far from the exterior walls.

Bay windows cost more than standard windows because their expansive, multi-panel design requires additional materials and skilled labor. Their construction involves extra glass, specialized frame components that extend outward, and complex operating mechanisms. These technical demands necessitate precise engineering and multiple expert installations, thereby significantly increasing both material and labor expenses.

Bay windows cost three times more than standard double-hung windows because their design requires extra panels, expanded framing, and a more complex installation process. The advanced construction method increases material consumption and demands comprehensive expertise, while specialized window treatments further elevate expenses. This all results in a significant difference in overall project cost.
