"Sorry for the long post, but wanted to make sure I did a thorough review. I got caught in the derecho that slammed Iowa in August 2020. A tree crashed down onto my mobile home and did extensive damage to the roof, gutter, siding and skirting. As an old lady who lives alone, I had no one to call and didn't know where to start to get my home livable again. I count myself extremely lucky to have gotten Tony of Midwest Remodel and Handyman to answer my request for help. He did an outstanding job! Because it was going to be a couple of weeks before he could begin and we had several days of rain forecasted, he came out right away and put a tarp on the roof. I had escaped water damage inside from the derecho, but was glad he took the time to put on the tarp so I didn't have to worry about new seepage. When he was able to focus on my home, he repaired the substructure of the roof and replaced the damaged shingles. He cut off the damaged part of the gutter and spliced in a new section so you can't even see the seam. He replaced the damaged siding and skirting, and again, took the time to make sure everything matched and looked nice. He did such an excellent job repairing the derecho damage, I hired him to fix a multitude of other things. I had a bathtub that couldn't be used because the faucet leaked. It didn't have typical gaskets, but he drove around to a couple of places and found the correct piece needed to fix it. He fixed a sliding closet door that wouldn't stay on the tracks, put down carpet transition strips so the carpet wouldn't pull up between the hallway and bedrooms, and even helped hang a couple of pictures that were too heavy for me to do alone. He adjusted the pneumatic cylinder on the storm door so it wouldn't knock me on my keister again when it slammed shut. He also replaced part of the front deck where the boards were rotting a bit. As a side note, his quote on the derecho repairs matched closely with the insurance adjustor, so I knew I wasn't getting ripped off. He's a super nice guy who was able to handle whatever I asked him to do, and I would definitely hire him again."

"After having a few negative experiences with contractors, what a surprise to work with a company that seems to do everything well. Albert came out to my house to give an estimate and I was sold almost immediately. Albert told me about my current shingles and that there had been a class action lawsuit. He offered to help me if I wanted to go after the company and then proceeded to tell me that I could probably get by for a couple of years if I wanted to go that route. I was so impressed with his knowledge and honesty that I decided to just pull the trigger and have them replaced. Albert told me that it would take three days. The first day there were 30mph winds so it wasn't safe for the crew to start work. Albert kept me in the loop and said they would start the next day. The job ended up taking two days including cleanup. The crew probably spent 3 hours cleaning up and left the yard looking better than when they arrived. Albert then followed up and spent an hour or so checking on their work and also doing another pass of cleaning up the nails. Replacing a roof is expensive and not an exciting way to spend your money but Action Roofing did a great job and I would highly recommend using them for roofing issues."

"Matthew Bradner of Iowa Home Consulting is very professional, personable, timely and I really appreciated his neatness.  There were several small projects that he completed over several days.  He always kept in touch with me by email or texting with scheduling each project as weather allowed.  He was patient with me as I took time to pick out the door that had to be ordered but fit us in his schedule when the door arrived.  He saved us money by reusing some wood where practical in rebuilding the deck stairs.  I plan on using him again this next summer for another project.  They came in, got the jobs done, cleaned up each day- It could not have been any easier at a very fair price. <br />"

"The staff arrived sometime after 8:30 a.m., but I had to leave the door open and unlocked for them since I had to leave for work. Next time, I will be sure to work with them on a better way to let them in in the morning.  I received an email from Jennifer letting me know the cleaners had arrived and that they wanted to clarify what we wanted done to ensure we stayed within our estimated cost, which I greatly appreciated.  This is likely the reason why the remaining bedroom upstairs was not done, but the door was left closed so we knew that it had not been done.  We had guests staying with us that weekend, and in that room, so it would have been preferable to have had it done and paid for the time to get it done.  However, everyone at Clean-it was professional and communicated very well with me, so had I clarified better, I am confident it would have been done. Customer service is of the utmost importance to them at every stage of the clean--before, during, and after.  I always receive a follow up phone call and/or email from Jennifer asking if I was satisfied with the clean before receiving the invoice.  I find this to be very consistent with their business model--they put the client's satisfaction first and continue to monitor their performance to ensure a good relationship.  They are professional and communicate often.  I would highly recommend to anyone. <br />"

"Excellent from the gitgo!  Price was very competitive.  Fast service.  Extremely professional sales rep and the installer was as good as it gets.  At the end of each day all waste was removed from around the building.  No left over nails, no left over shingles or pieces. <br /> Questions and phone calls were answered right away.   End result was beyond my expectations.    This is the third house I've had new shingles installed on and it's by far the most professional install I've experienced.   You will not be disappointed....cause they won't let that happen!!"
