"My mom was left without power to her entire house Matt got temporary power to her refrigerator and completely re-wired the entire house including new electrical boxes. He completed the work by himself over 3 visits and worked a 10 hour day on Sunday. Very personable and explained what he was finding throughout the house. Even shopped for a new light fixture that replaced one that may have caused the issue?s in the garage that was recently installed incorrectly. Had confidence in ability to complete the job."

"This gentleman is terrific!! Excellent advice on pros and cons of different options. Got us installed with a more efficient unit but also the correct size for our house. Works great and lowered our bill. Even gave me a courtesy call back to confirm my wiring when installing a new thermostat months later. Highly recommend!"

"Ross responded promptly for the project. He communicated very well with me about the project and also about his arrival time. He confirmed the day before and again the morning of our appointment and was punctual. He was thorough, neat and efficient. I enjoyed working with Ross and would use him again for any project. I highly recommend Blackstock & Co to anyone needing help with a project. "

"DOES NOT CHECK THEIR OWN WORK! I paid for regular checkup and ended up also paying for their recommended replacement of my contactor on the AC unit. After the work was done, I had to leave for an errand and came back to a HOT house, only to find that the tech did NOT turn my thermostat back on. He didn't tell me that I needed to do it, so basically, they're ok with leaving the customer in a lurch and NOT taking responsibility. I also had to call the next day to ask for an itemized receipt, since the tech never left me with a copy of what I paid for. Speaking of, they charged me $280 to replace the $40 part (massive labor charge), PLUS the $99 "service" fee. When they finally sent the invoice after I requested it twice, there was no itemization of the charges at all. This situation was so bad with how Robbins handled this scenario, that my husband called to try and rectify it. This company was recommended to me by my father-in-law, and I had been using them for the last three years. I will NEVER use them again, nor will I be recommending their services. No apology, no accountability, no good."

"They did great— it was quick and efficient, even after running into a small problem— they still got the whole thing done in one day. The workers were polite and clean and mindful of the rest of the house, and the office was pretty good about explaining things and getting back to me. Overall a very good, professional experience."

FAQs for thermostat installation and replacement projects in Colorado Springs, CO

Smart thermostats may be worth it for many homeowners. They come with various features, including voice control and smartphone apps. Vacation mode can help lower energy usage when you’re out of town for an extended period. Alert warnings let you know about major spikes or drops in temperature. Smartphone apps can track energy usage, and smart thermostats can learn your routine over time to adjust your temperature and reduce wasted energy consumption automatically.

You typically do not need more than one smart thermostat. While it’s common to see multiple mechanical thermostats throughout a large home, multiple smart thermostats may try to override each other. This can lead to problems with the HVAC system. Ensure the unit you buy has the option for dual- or multi-zoned systems to avoid compatibility issues.

Installing a programmable or smart thermostat may save you $180 per year in utility costs. A big part of this comes from a smart thermostat’s ability to learn and adapt to your regular routines. With smartphone apps or web-based interfaces, you also have the option to control your thermostat when you’re not home.
