"Shawn and Paul were very professional, honest, proficient. We were told we needed a new deck, Shawn came and did a free estimate and reassured us we did not need a new deck. He gave us the best ideas on how to complete the job and came within the week to do the job. Shawn went out of his way to make us happy and make our deck looks fantastic. "

"After a satisfactory gate installation in Dec 2024, I hired House Doctor for a patio door replacement in Jan 2025. I requested an experienced technician and scheduled a mid-March install, trusting their promise: "But no matter how big or small the project is, we can do it for you. We have many clients with a checklist of jobs, and when you schedule a House Doctor handyman, they arrive on time and complete the job with promptness and precision. We won?t waste your time." Instead, delays, a wrong door order, and conflicting measurements left me confused. I was told the owner would refund our deposit and cancel the project, with no explanation. With rising tariffs and home repair season, our door install maybe pushed to late summer. I cannot in good conscience recommend House Doctor. It is now May and we're forced to look for another provider. The prolonged delay and vague communication have forced me to seek other vendors, incurring higher costs as tariffs raise material prices. Customers say: Quality work

"The profile for Holy Roller is lengthy and is misleading. As a consumer, you would want to trust that what is listed on the company's profile is work that can be accomplished in a satisfactory manner for all parties. I hired Holy Roller to paint a pergola and refurbish an existing patio. Holy Roller spent months on my project, leaving me without the use of my patio. I fully paid Holy Roller, but the project was never completed. Appointments were cancelled, incorrect paint was used, the company couldn't strip the paint they applied that had chipped and peeled. Construction debris was left on my property. I enlisted the Better Business Bureau's help and took Holy Roller to Arbitration. An Arbitration hearing was conducted at the office of the BBB and I received an Arbitration Award against Jim C./Holy Roller. The money was to be paid by November 1, 2018. Jim Cole has not abided by the Arbitrator's Ruling. I spent thousands of dollars with a reputable company to fix the workmanship of Holy Roller Painting. The new company removed all work done by Holy Roller and gave me a new patio within 36 hours. Please do your research before hiring this company."

Small jobs welcome

"They did a great job! We added 4 very large steel shelving units to our out building, we couldn’t do it ourselves. They also put together 6 raised beds and fixed our mailbox which had gotten hit in the snow. I will definitely use again. As a matter of fact I just gave their info to my daughter. "

FAQs for appliance (major electric appliance) installation and replacement projects in Columbus, OH

A pro starts by setting the units in place and connecting them to the right plumbing lines, electrical circuits, and, for the dryer, a vent. If the hookups already exist, the job is quick. When they don’t, the installer must add plumbing, outlets, or a vent run, which takes more time and increases the price, especially when the laundry area is located far from existing utilities.

You’ll need the right pros for a tight stacked setup. A natural-gas plumber handles the water lines, drain, and any gas work, while an electrician installs the circuit the dryer needs. If venting or framing changes are required, hire a general contractor to patch the drywall or adjust the framing so that everything meets code and operates safely.

Permanent models need complete plumbing, electrical, and—for dryers—vent hookups. Portable units skip most of that and can run on a standard outlet with a temporary water connection. If your home already has a code-approved hookup, you just connect the new appliances. If not, hire a licensed pro to add the lines and vent so the machines run safely and efficiently.

Relocating a hookup costs between $500 and $5,000, as it may involve installing new outlets, gas lines, vents, and drain pipes. The price increases when the new location is far from existing utilities or requires additional framing and drywall work. Have licensed professionals evaluate your layout, provide a quote for the move, and handle the installation so that every component meets code and works safely.
