"This company is OUTSTANDING! We had damage to the windows in the house we just bought and contacted Jeff to come out and do and estimate. His team responded immeadiately and came out the following day. Paul could not have been nicer, more professional or helpful. He look at the damaged window and was able to ascertain who installed them through a code on the window. Note, none of the other window companies pointed this out. He said that the windows are probably under warranty but if we could not get ahold of the installer we should just replace the glass through a glass company as the windows have another 5 years of shelf life. He said we did not need 16 new windows. I had 3 other quotes and all of them said we needed new windows. It is nice in this day and age to find a company that does the right thing and put integrity and good buisiness before a sale. I would never go to anyone else in the future and recommend them to every one I know."

"Last winter the monster icicles and potential ice dams on our home convinced me that it was time to improve the attic insulation in our 1992 home.  I initially contacted March & Martin after a strong recommendation from several employees of my HVAC company.  Russ came out to look at the job.  He was thorough, easy to talk with, very knowledgeable, and happy to answer my many detailed questions.  After a rough period of figuring out what was required by our town building inspector, working around vacation schedules of various people involved, and figuring out how to work the building permit process, we finally scheduled the work.  Throughout the process Andrea in the office was unfailingly competent, pleasant, and flexible as we worked it all out.  <br /> The work was supposed to take up to three days, probably two, and possibly one.  The first day two installers arrived on time and we discussed exactly how everything would be done.  I was concerned about ensuring that the finished areas of our home not get dirty from the hoses, fans, and walking through the home to get to the attic.  The installers were very easy to work with, satisfied all my concerns, and I felt comfortable leaving our home in their hands.  When I returned later in the day about 2/3 of the foam had been installed.  The next day everything also went well and the work was completed that afternoon.  <br /> I got what I expected in every way.  As far as I can tell the foam was properly installed and will perform as promised.  The remaining odor was minimal and less of a problem than I expected, and the finished areas of our home were clean.  Everyone I dealt with from start to finish were competent, friendly, accommodating, and did just what I expected.  <br /> The only problem with the whole process was the considerable delay and the effort it took on my part to get everything worked out.  However I think that these problems are attributable to some one-time problems that are not likely to be repeated.  Everyone worked hard and did what they could to resolve issues that wouldn't arise normally.  Consequently I have no hesitation in recommending this company and would definitely use them for future work. <br />"

"I am absolutely delighted with the beautiful silhouette window treatments recently purchased at and installed in my new home by Mill Design Center in North Chelmsford, Ma. Cindi was a pleasure to work with. I came to her with two different window treatments in mind and very unsure of what I wanted. Her professional manner, patience, and experience guided through the decision process leading me to recognize the functionality and design I was searching for. The quality of the silhouette shades she suggested are just as I expected. Cindi understood I was searching a soft look for windows throughout my home. Her suggestion of silhouette shading was exactly what I wanted and did not know it. The soft adjustable fabric vanes between sheer fabric panels allow me to control the sunlight, while a slight adjustment offers privacy. The design of the window treatments presents a quiet elegance to each room, just as Cindi said it would. The scheduling of the measuring and installation was very convenient for me. I could not be happier with my purchase and my choice of Mill Design Center in North Chelmsford, Ma. Thank you Cindi and Rick for making my vision a reality."

"Phil and Doug were wonderful to work with- very responsive, professional, and answered all of my questions. We replaced a regular window in our home with a 7 foot bay window, which is beautiful and we absolutely love it. My one complaint was that a hole in the wall underneath the window was left following the installation, as well as some cracks, which were patched with a foamy substance but not a proper smooth plaster repair job that could be painted. We had to take care of that repair ourselves. Otherwise, my experience was very positive."

"Overall we were extremely happy with the result. They went above and beyond in all aspects. We worked with John in ordering the windows, and he went through all the details numerous times to ensure we got what we wanted. He even met us at the showroom on a Saturday to fit with our schedule. The windows turned out great- and for a fraction of the price another company quoted in the Boston area. Highly recommend United Better Homes and hope to use them again for a roof or new doors."

FAQs for new windows service projects in Concord, NH

Yes, bay windows add value to a home. They enhance the property by expanding the interior space and flooding rooms with natural light. Their unique three-panel design creates a stunning focal point that elevates curb appeal and modernizes living areas. This architectural detail increases both functional space and visual appeal, directly contributing to higher home resale value.

Yes, all window types have the potential to become part of a bay window configuration when modified correctly. The transformation involves reconfiguring standard windows into a multi-panel design that features a larger central window flanked by smaller ones. This process requires precise professional planning and custom framing to ensure durability, visual balance, and structural integrity.

Bay windows typically consist of three glass panels extending beyond the home's exterior walls, with a larger center panel flanked by two smaller ones. In contrast, bow windows are composed of four to six equally sized glass panels that create a gentle curve and do not extend as far from the exterior walls.

Bay windows cost more than standard windows because their expansive, multi-panel design requires additional materials and skilled labor. Their construction involves extra glass, specialized frame components that extend outward, and complex operating mechanisms. These technical demands necessitate precise engineering and multiple expert installations, thereby significantly increasing both material and labor expenses.

Bay windows cost three times more than standard double-hung windows because their design requires extra panels, expanded framing, and a more complex installation process. The advanced construction method increases material consumption and demands comprehensive expertise, while specialized window treatments further elevate expenses. This all results in a significant difference in overall project cost.
