"I had a tankless water heater installed but needed the gas line to be dug from the other side of the house for it to be connected. The job was complicated but Luke and his crew from Mr. Rooter did a great job! I would totally hire them again for any plumbing needs. "

"Joe called to say they were on their way.  They checked all I needed to have addressed and started on the (4) toilets.  They actually found that what I thought was a leaky drain, ended up being a cracked shower head that drained behind the wall, leaking into a lower floor closet.  They changed out the shower head with great results.  Also I had ordered a new faucet for the kitchen which they installed (and I love).  The last issue was the garbage disposal which has made a nice addition, since my old one has been out of commission for a while.  I was happy with the service, thought for the work performed the price was fair, and would call on Cookeville Plumbing in the future if I had problems. <br />"

"Initially, I called Lowe's because that is where I bought my appliance. They set me up with another company took forever to call me back and then they only served my area on certain days so it was going to be a week! Then I got a tip to try RPM. They called me right back and worked in visit that day. My washer was running by the next day! The labor was reasonable which was good because I had to pay for a fairly expensive replacement part."

"Two men arrived at our door at about 9:00 AM and proceeded to go to work removing our old furnace. By 3:00 PM the new furnace was installed and the dehumidifier was installed in our crawl space. They cleaned up their tools and left the area clean. The men were very professional and polite. We couldn't be happier with this company. <br />"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Cookeville, TN

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
