"I called and talked with Jim and set an appointment to have them come over and replace the torsion springs on our garage door. I asked how much it would cost me, he said from 260-275.00 but no more than that. Well, they sent Taylor to measure the springs who told my fiance that he did not know how to use a measuring tape, so they could not fix it on the appointment date given that they could not get the right torsion springs to install to be brought over. They clamped it and said they will be back next day first thing in the morning to complete the work. Well, they did not show up until Monday given that there is an ego maniac at the office who stated that she was the one who schedules their work. On Monday, they finally showed up and fixed the door and tried to bill us $375.00 for something that was already contracted for 275.00 Max. I talk to the lady who had ego problems and she said she will have to talk with Jim. I told her, I will send my payment for what it was contracted and did so. Fishy people! They had not idea they were dealing with a Civil Engineer who owned a garage door repair company for over 25 years."

"It took a couple of business days to receive a call back from them looking for more information. It was another few days before I got an email stating that they are not doing anymore exterior paint jobs."

"It went pretty good but there are/were problems with the install. The astragal on the bottom of the door continues to roll-up as the door closes. A crew returned to address this issue but it still exists."

"It was timely.  It may have been a little pricey but because of the timeline that I was putting them under, it didn't feel outrageous.  It was fair considering that I was looking to get something done that I could have done myself this spring but I didn't want to wait and wanted it done before winter.  They started in October and they were done from excavating, pouring the concrete to having to building up in less than a month which was good because I have built houses.  In another town he told me he could have done it cheaper but that was my requirement here and I think it was a fair value.  I had one minor problem and the truth was that the material that the manufacturer had screwed up on the door.  He's come back and fixed everything at no extra cost.  The check had long since cash so there was possibility he wouldn't have done that but he did.  I didn't do any competitive bidding because I couldn't find anybody else who would even do it in that time frame.  I knew what it was going to cost and I knew what the concrete cost so I thought it was fair.  I sent an email saying I got a problem, within twelve hours I had a response and that was on a weekend.  I would use them again in those exact same circumstances.  Overall I was very pleased with them. If somebody makes a door and they don't put the cramps on right, we wouldn't know.  I built two houses and I didn't know that and I've never seen it before.  They did a top quality job."

"<p>The service and equipment was top notch but beware the hidden costs. I was quoted over the phone a price to install but when the bill was due there was a extra $79 labor charge and a $40 delivery charge. These were not mentioned before the service was provided and if they had been I would not of hired them. I called the office and explained my thoughts on the 2 charges and was supposed to get a call back that afternoon. I called again the next day and was told the service supervisor was out and she would get back to me. I am still waiting on that phone call 3 days later. When or if I get that phone call I will update this review at that time.</p> <p>Update:</p> <p>I called again and was told the same story guess that's how they handle a complaint, hope you get tired and quit calling. Will not use again.<br /> <br /> </p>"

FAQs for garage door installation and replacement projects in Coralville, IA

Yes, you can replace just one panel if your door is sectional and the damaged panel is available. Most modern residential garage doors have four to six horizontal panels that can be individually replaced. However, finding an exact match becomes challenging for older doors or discontinued styles. For doors over 15 to 20 years old or with multiple damaged panels, a complete door replacement might be more practical and visually consistent.

Minor dents or cosmetic damage can often be repaired without replacing the entire panel, potentially saving you money. However, if the damage affects the door's operation, security, or structural integrity, replacement is often a better investment.

For extensive damage to multiple panels or older doors where matching is difficult, full door replacement might be more economical in the long run than multiple individual panel replacements.

Your garage door panel might be repairable if the damage is superficial and doesn't affect functionality. Small dents in aluminum panels, minor scratches, or cosmetic issues often don't require full replacement. However, replacement is often necessary if the panel is warped, has large holes, shows extensive rust, or affects how the door operates. A professional garage door technician can evaluate the damage and recommend whether repair or replacement offers the best value and durability.
