"How refreshing to call for an appointment, reach a person directly on the phone, and have the visit scheduled for the following day instead of 9+ months out like many doctor appointments nowadays! Jim showed up at the beginning of the window of time, which I appreciated very much. He was professional, personable, knowledgeable, and efficient. He was able to reprogram the existing keypad that I thought was no longer working rather than sell me a new one. He programmed a new remote opener and offered to program the garage door opener in my car, which was an added bonus. Jim also performed a routine service inspection on my garage door and gave me an idea of what would eventually need to be replaced in the next few years. He did all of that in less than 30 minutes. I used Dave's Garage Doors six times in a 20-year period at my former home. I highly recommend them."

"We asked Affordable Garage Door for a second opinion on a repair/replacement garage door. The first vendor insisted that the door would need replacing. Tom from Affordable took a look and recommended a repair. He made the repairs and the door works better than ever! We will be contacting AGD again, if the door ever needs repair or maintenance! <br />"

"Brad had done work on my old garage door in the past. Called asked for replacement of opener and door. He came by with brochures and measured opening to the garage to provide estimate. Had everything installed and working great. Nice to have a new opener that makes 1/10 the noise as the previous opener. Also, the new garage door actually goes all the way side to side with no gaps. The work was done great with no issues. <br />"

"Jeremy Leigh and his crew have remodeled two bathrooms in our 1927 house. The most recent work was a tiny, non-functional half-bath. They removed the small radiator and installed an electric floor, which allowed the toilet to be moved so that a person over 5 feet tall could sit down without hitting their knees on the wall. They restored the medicine cabinet which has lovely wood trim, built a shelf to fit exactly into a corner to provide storage, and installed new baseboards to match the existing ones in the house. I choose a rectangular wall hung sink to free up floor space. It was a challenge to install, but they got it done and it looks fabulous. Finally, the tile work on the sink wall and floor is great - it gives the room texture and shine - the tile installer had very good suggestions on laying the floor tile in a different direction and the finish of the tile wall around the medicine cabinet that improved the design greatly. All of this was done on time, on budget, and the crew was very professional. It was always easy to get hold of the office with any questions that we had or they had for us. This was our second project, last fall Leigh's remodeled our full bath and again it is lovely, and much more in the style of the home, and seems larger although its not. Part of that project was the installation of a new electrical box, which made installation of the electric floor possible in the half bath."

"<p>JC Unger responded quickly and went out to look at the damage. He began to secure the building as soon as we had completed the required paperwork, which we did via email in order to speed things up because of my safety concerns. He had the power off and the building secured in a few days. The tenants were then able to take advantage of a dry weekend and move their vehicles and belongings out and away from the barn. JC then went to work cutting the branches off the tree and demolishing the structure. He did this in a remarkable fast time, considering that the weather had deteriorated again, and the barn was at the bottom of a steep and muddy hill. One discovery he made during the demolition was that a previous owner had tapped into the 220 line that ran to the well pump and had improvised wiring to the barn. The conduit he used was a garden hose. JC was able to track this unexpected electrical wiring back to the circuit breakers on the pole, and disconnect it. Unfortunately, the circuit breakers were not well installed nor new, so the power to the well pump decreased, which caused it to stop working. This all happened at the end of a long day, but JC did not clock out and go home for the night. He took the time to drop off his worker and went and got a replacement circuit breaker. He then went back out to the farm and in the dark he installed the new breaker so that the tenants would have the water they needed (with two teenagers in the house, they did need the water running). This selfless action was a step above and beyond in my opinion, and why I so highly recommend JC Unger. Like I said previously, he could have just called it a night and headed home, but he took the time to take care of another person's need.</p> The rest of the demolition went smoothly with no more surprises and was done quickly. I will be hiring JC Unger again as soon as the ground dries out a bit. I want him to build the replacement building and to grade and gravel the drive. <br /> If you need someone who does a good job and is conscientious, then I highly recommend Unger Construction. You won't find any better! <br />"

FAQs for garage door installation and replacement projects in Corvallis, OR

Yes, you can replace just one panel if your door is sectional and the damaged panel is available. Most modern residential garage doors have four to six horizontal panels that can be individually replaced. However, finding an exact match becomes challenging for older doors or discontinued styles. For doors over 15 to 20 years old or with multiple damaged panels, a complete door replacement might be more practical and visually consistent.

Minor dents or cosmetic damage can often be repaired without replacing the entire panel, potentially saving you money. However, if the damage affects the door's operation, security, or structural integrity, replacement is often a better investment.

For extensive damage to multiple panels or older doors where matching is difficult, full door replacement might be more economical in the long run than multiple individual panel replacements.

Your garage door panel might be repairable if the damage is superficial and doesn't affect functionality. Small dents in aluminum panels, minor scratches, or cosmetic issues often don't require full replacement. However, replacement is often necessary if the panel is warped, has large holes, shows extensive rust, or affects how the door operates. A professional garage door technician can evaluate the damage and recommend whether repair or replacement offers the best value and durability.
