"Service was performed, tried to sell me a new garage door. Did sell me a garage door opener for $50 which is $15 over normal cost, but saved me a trip to Home Depot."

"F & J Garage Door Service is a GODSEND!! Although I called quite late in the afternoon, I was greeted by a friendly, calm and empathetic representative who listened to my concerns, answered my questions, identified probable causes of my lethargic garage door and reassured me that all could be taken care of within a few hours or on another day of my availability. I opted for this evening (1/9/2020) and was informed a Technician would contact me within a reasonable period of time when he was on his way to my home. Trey, the Technician arrived within 75 minutes from my initial call and explained what he would be doing got right to work. I found Trey to be quite courteous, competent and efficient while providing fantastic customer service. Thank You F & J Garage Door Service for putting me at ease and coming to my rescue!!"

"The sensor was broken. He replaced it (part cost $75). In addition to this replacement, he programmed my car to be able to open the garage door. He also checked and serviced (oiled) the garage door system. He was great. Professional, honest, informative, straight foreword, personable. The service charge fee was fair and well worth it. I would recommend him and use him again."

"<strong>Cody is the young man that performed the service on my garage door opener and installed the keyless/wireless key pad.<br /> He was very professional, yet very personable - very pleasant young man and he did a wonderful job . It is refreshing to find someone providing such excellent customer service. I would definitely use this company again and will refer my friends to them as well.<br /> </strong> <br />"

"I ordered a garage door in May of 2015 submitting half down. Steve, the manager, was both knowledgeable and pleasant, important attributes when making an expensive purchase. He noted that both the garage and the room above it would be much warmer with an R19 door. I had hoped to order a Liftmaster belt system opener, but the manager noted he had difficulty in securing those from his supplier and recommended a Linear. However, Consumer Reports and my husband, a mechanic, both recommended a Liftmaster system because it is quieter and can be connected to your smart phone. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Paul installed the beautiful, new garage door, but there were gaps on both sides of the door where bugs or wind could enter. Paul attempted, but was not successful in installing the new opener because the rail was too long. I was worried about the old Genie system being able to lift the new door, but Paul thought it would be okay. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />I called Steve and he very cordially drove over the next day to fill the gaps. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Steve was correct. The garage is much warmer as is the room above it. My purchase was a wise investment that added curb appeal. The window design adds much needed light in the garage when working on projects. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Unfortunately, the old Genie system broke in December. See my other review for the rest of the story. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Recommendations: <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />1. Keep Liftmaster in stock. <br /> <br />2. Match Home Depot prices. Home Depot's installers are from Payson. <br /> <br /> I try to buy local to support my city's businessmen. <br /> <br />3. Train Paul in how to install and adjust garage door openers."

"Overall the experience was very positive. The company was able to make the service call within a couple days. They offered an excellent discount on their website, and the resulting price was reasonable. The serviceman was very professional and personable. There was no attempt to recommend unnecessary services. The garage door opener now performs better than when it was first installed."

"Landmark sent out a great AC repair company and the motor was replaced for our unit quickly. They did not try to replace more than was necessary and made sure everything else was working correctly. I only paid the co-pay for the warranty work.  I made the call on a Saturday afternoon and the service was completed early Monday."

FAQs for garage door installation and replacement projects in Cottonwood, AZ

Yes, you can replace just one panel if your door is sectional and the damaged panel is available. Most modern residential garage doors have four to six horizontal panels that can be individually replaced. However, finding an exact match becomes challenging for older doors or discontinued styles. For doors over 15 to 20 years old or with multiple damaged panels, a complete door replacement might be more practical and visually consistent.

Minor dents or cosmetic damage can often be repaired without replacing the entire panel, potentially saving you money. However, if the damage affects the door's operation, security, or structural integrity, replacement is often a better investment.

For extensive damage to multiple panels or older doors where matching is difficult, full door replacement might be more economical in the long run than multiple individual panel replacements.

Your garage door panel might be repairable if the damage is superficial and doesn't affect functionality. Small dents in aluminum panels, minor scratches, or cosmetic issues often don't require full replacement. However, replacement is often necessary if the panel is warped, has large holes, shows extensive rust, or affects how the door operates. A professional garage door technician can evaluate the damage and recommend whether repair or replacement offers the best value and durability.
