"After arranging a 11:00 - 13:00 window, Appleton Campbell called at 08:56 and advised that the tech would be here at 10:30. This was not a problem in this case, though the call was rather early and there was no acknowledgment that this time was outside the agreed window.
At the (re)appointed time the tech, Chris, arrived and after being show the various locations began his inspection. Following a couple of his observations he found me and discussed his findings, showing me where appropriate and answering all my questions. Based on the discussions including going over his report at the end, it appears his inspection was quite thorough.
At the end he engaged in a little sales activity for some relevant products and a service subscription, but not in any objectionable way.

"The company owner came to my house to give me a free estimate. Explain the different systems and the pros and cons of each. I greatly appreciated his detailed line by line estimate for a basic better and best HVAC system. I ended up with his best proposal and added a whole house air filter system, humidifier and air scrubber Plus. I look forward to many years of worry-free enjoyment of my house summer and winter. "They were remarkable. First, they excavated the minimum needed to repair our drain and install the CIPP liner. They saved our front cement and brick staircase (directly over the main house sewer line). They only removed one section of the sidewalk that was over the main house sewer line. When done, they filled and compacted the dirt, covered the lawn with straw (i.e., ready for me to add seed and to avoid erosion) and replaced the damaged sidewalk section. The workers were polite and respectful of both us and our property. There was truly minimal disruption to the household. We could not flush toilets or run water down the drains for about 3 hours each day they worked on the line. We contracted for repair of the pipe that was on our property. They completed this work in two days. We then added re-lining the pipe under the road to the county connection. The team added people for and worked late on the second day. Job done on day 3. The job took 3 days (as promised)."

"The company utilized a "pull-and-replace" technique as follows: 1) excavated the water pipe at the house and at the street; cut the water line at those two places; 2) ran an 80 ft. steel cable from the street to the house; 3) attached a "pyramid-knife" to the steel cable and then attached the copper replacement pipe to the pyramid-knife. 4) tractor-pulled the pyramid-knife and copper tubing through the old poly-tube pipe, cutting it as it went and replacing it with the copper pipe in one continuous operation. 5) all excavations restored to original condition at close of the work. Process was ingenious and saved all of my trees from root damage (and potential dying in a couple of years.) No digging trenches. The technician was completely professional, competent and courteous. He explained each step as it went. He was also clearly proud of his work and finished every step with complete attention to detail, thoroughness and professionalism. The job took about six hours to complete and went off without a hitch. I am completely satisfied with the work and recommend this company highly ."
