"Excellent work and customer service. Would definitely recommend this company. All waterproofing work is expensive, but they offer complete renovation services. Out project was just awful - water in the wall, then they found termites (!) and asbestos in our floor tile & mastic. Basement Detectives worked with us through every issue. They told us what needed to be done, coordinated with other contractors as needed (for our project, a plumber to remove a radiator, and a pest control company and asbestos removal). After the demolition, and the drain and pump install, they put up walls and painted and cleaned everything up. Very professional staff. "Fred Reid with Accurate Home Inspections will stand by his work and his word without fail. The below transaction is the most impressive interaction I’ve had with a service company in my life and Fred handled what was a minor issue which he did NOT have to accept responsibility for with the utmost integrity and professionalism. As background, Fred inspected my Fredericksburg, VA home in March of 2017 and we found a clean inspection. I’ve already written a review on him in 2017 applauding his timeliness, professionalism, and assistance explaining different aspects of the home. Fast forward two years and I listed my house in February 2019 and the buyer’s inspector found a minor crawlspace issue that was suspected of not complying with structural code. As expected, the buyer’s purchase of my home was now contingent on fixing this item. I sent a copy of the report to Fred Reid and called him to discuss the way forward as this was not reported on the inspection he completed in 2017. He was extremely professional, approachable, and humble about it, stating that he was not certain whether or not this was a code issue and if it was code at the time the house was built in 1992 and it was missed, he would refund me the cost of the inspection which covered the $400 repair. He recommended we utilize the Spotsylvania County Structural Engineer for Code Compliance to determine if the issue was out of code and even offered to do the legwork getting the POC info. Ultimately, it was determined the issue did not comply with code at the time the house was built (by a matter of inches) and needed to be repaired. Without hesitation, Fred upheld his end of the deal and refunded me the cost of the inspection which coincided with the cost of repairs. I was extremely frustrated when this issue first presented and had a completely different review prepared to post. However, the way in which Fred handled this only reinforced that I would stand by AHI and use/refer them for future transactions again and again."
